The "Imagine" memorial mosaic in Central Park's "Strawberry Fields" section - tribute to slain Beatles John Lennon, who had lived only a few blocks away at The Dakota Apartments where he was murdered.
This was the former home of Don Kirchner's Aldon Music Publishing and was located at 1650 Broadway, directly across the street from the Brill Building where many of the songs were composed by folks like Ellie Greenwich, Carole King and so many other talented writers.
The famous building where John Lennon lived (and was murdered outside), home to many other well-known celebrities. Directly across the street is Central Park and the area known as "Strawberry Fields", a small park / memorial to John Lennon, underwritten by his widow Yoko Ono.
With beautiful art deco exterior, The Chanin Building is just steps away from Grand Central Terminal.
Statue of Christopher Columbus in Central Park, done by Spanish sculptor Jeronimo Sunol, was unveiled on May 12, 1894 on the Mall. The other famous statue of Christopher Columbus that is located right outside Central Park Merchant's Plaza was done by a different sculptor.

One of the few remaining buildings of a series, all located on Lafayette Street, most of which were torn down around 1902. The surviving four gained landmark status.
