Central Park's "Strawberry Fields" section - tribute to slain Beatles John Lennon, who had lived only a few blocks away at The Dakota Apartments where he was murdered. A popular place in the park for people to come pay their respect to John. The "Imagine" memorial mosaic is in the center there.
The umbrella of author P.L. Travers, and the inspiration for "Mary Poppins". Part of “The ABC of It: Why Children’s Books Matter”, a wonderful collection of children's books from the 1800's to currently, including many toys and other historic memorabilia.

The "Imagine" memorial mosaic in Central Park's "Strawberry Fields" section - tribute to slain Beatles John Lennon, who had lived only a few blocks away at The Dakota Apartments where he was murdered.
This was the former home of Don Kirchner's Aldon Music Publishing and was located at 1650 Broadway, directly across the street from the Brill Building where many of the songs were composed by folks like Ellie Greenwich, Carole King and so many other talented writers.
The famous building where John Lennon lived (and was murdered outside), home to many other well-known celebrities. Directly across the street is Central Park and the area known as "Strawberry Fields", a small park / memorial to John Lennon, underwritten by his widow Yoko Ono.
