This sewer alligator is part of the series of whimsical bronze sculptures by Tom Otterness - the series is called 'Life Underground" and is located primarily at the 14th Street – Eighth Avenue New York City Subway station (A C E L trains), Manhattan.
Right now the PATH Terminal is under construction. Part of that was replacing the bridge over West Street to/from Battery Park with this tunnel, the West Concourse. Insane to see this; marble on the floor and wall, sculptural arches above.
