My son's music studio is taking shape. It doesn't usually look this tidy as he is going on tour tomorrow so a lot of stuff that would normally be in shot has been loaded onto the tour van :)

Managed to capture the whole island of La Graciosa thanks to the Fujinon XF 8mm f/3.5 lens.

Managed to finish a meeting early. Got out for 40 minutes to Yattalunga. Great location andsome great light. I like these shots but sunset was so amazing that I feel like they don't do it justice. It was that good!

Managed to get a quick photo in the garden before the sun disappeared. 💋

Managed to make a makeshift tripod with a few books and a shaky table tripod from Kathmandu (designed for compact cameras). The flash was fired from the left of the image and was both bounced from the ceiling, and omnibounced for the fill-in. One hand on the shutter, the other releasing the raspberry.

I managed to re-find my Water Pipit this week but it wasn't as cooperative this time. But I did manage to take an unusual wing-stretch shot that I thought was different enough to upload. Any photograph of a Water Pipit is a prize as they are scarce winter visitors to Britain, and they are notoriously skittish. Though this photograph might be better as a mystery bird photograph as it is unhelpfully concealing the diagnostic clinchers for its identification, namely its dark legs and unstreaked back. When I started birdwatching people didn't pay much attention to them because they were considered a race of Rock Pipit, but a taxonomic split in 1986 gave them full species status and people then started to take an interest. Water Pipits breed in the high alpine zone of mountains in southern Europe, descending to lower altitudes in winter. (A different subspecies breeds across the mountains of Asia). According to BTO about 200 spend the winter in Britain. They winter in freshwater wetland habitats in Britain, showing a preference for watercress beds. Ringing has shown that individual Water Pipits can return to the same wintering site for three, even four winters. Though ringing has also shown that they can move between winters, with one moving from Surrey to Hampshire.

I actually managed to move my rear end out of bed for an early morning walk down to the river before the sun rose in the sky. Here are few of the images.

Have a lovely Sunday peeps, the Paralympic's are all but done, David Weir has just brought in another Gold followed by Shelly Wood with a Silver. What a team we have, what a pleasure it has been to watch them!

84010 801021 Birm International Motor Show 1715 BI-MP

84010 managed to soldier on until 1980 and in it's last days was used between Manchester and Birmingham on the Motor Show specials.

84010 approaches International station with the stock for the 1715 Birmingham International-Manchester. 21st October 1980

Managed a 10 minute stroll today in the grounds of The Bield at Blackruthven.

I recently did a photo shoot for a local band who wanted some "before" and "after" shots taken prior to them going on tour with a band that had a gothic image. I was asked to make the "before" shot a normal head shot, but to make the "after" shot more macabre, so I give you the Bassist :)

Managed to get to this party today.... and obviously just had to take a photo of the table....

Managed to hide behind the large flash diffuser to get reasonably close to the butterfly, obviously if you move close then lift the camera to your eye the insect will take flight.

...how plants survive.

Seen in the interesting roof garden atop the new Transbay Transit Terminal. San Francisco.

I managed to take this shot just as the last rays of sunlight were dancing over the edge of the ridgeline. This was a magical place to watch the sunset which we will remember for a long time.

I managed to get a portrait of Argent from close-up. She kept on turning her head this way and that but I was able to take a picture as she faced me...

Managed to sneak this weapon of war through TSA security, allowing me to take some nice pics of it here in the snowy mountains of Idaho :-)

We drove east and north until we found fall in Arizona. The town of Greer was where we managed to find it. There were mountains and rivers and lots of fall colors.

Managed some damselflies and now a butterfly, things were definitely getting better!!

Much more fun viewed large.

Thank you for your favourites. :O)

Managed some shots before a lady came along collecting the Rose hips :0)

Managed to sneak up pretty close to this Heron before it spotted me and took to the air, E-M1/100-300mm.

I managed a half day off work to catch up with this beautiful animal

Managed to wake up a little earlier than normal yesterday, so went for walk with little Oak. Was a lush misty morning.

I managed to catch the sun just peeping over the horizon. The trees and fields are still in shadow, but to the west you can see the towers of Toronto gleaming in the dawn's rays.

Aures, Tove, Lulu, Lysandra, and Bobby prepare for their first real concert as a band. A surprise pop up show in Hogsmeade for the monthly school trip to the village. Toves father provided the stage, decor, and of course some equipment upgrades. He had a lot to make up for since he promised Tove and Aures a trip to Japan over the summer but didn't follow through.

Of course what was a first gig without proper band photos!

Managed to get out today at last Not a great day but much better that the last couple of weeks for sure, but to my luck not that much about today.

I managed to swipe a few seconds of autumn daylight today! Dasha and I ran out in the rain to take advantage of the atmosphere.

I managed to get inside the massive crowd. People were slowly following the mourning procession. it was very tough to find my way to the front as there were lot of people with hypnotic eyes and were very annoyed if someone was pushing in. there were groups of people with sharp chains and blades in the miles long procession. They were stopping and started to beat their back & chest with those sharp chains which allowed them to bleed. Most of them got covered by blood.

This man was shaking. Not surprisingly, the shake came from his excruciating pain. There were deep cuts on his back and on his head. He was painfully uttering the names of Hasan and Husain. I couldn’t stand there longer as the beating was about to start and there was people with sharp objects. They got very inspired as soon as they saw me with a big camera. My camera turned almost red from the blood coming out from the swings of their hands. Its very easy to get hit by those as most of these people seemed like going through in a trans.

This is a part of Ashura Mourning Series

Finally managed to get the camera out over Easter, we had some family stay at Mooloolaba & decided to stop in for a visit, gave me a good excuse to get out for a shoot, the sky was rather bland until the sun went down behind me & these crazy rays appeared in this intense colour to the east.

The lighthouse you see is Point Cartwright, another great seascapers spot.

EN : We managed to escape from the arsenal explosion site without encountering any insurmountable obstacles, skewers of pirates roaming around but nothing more.

We rested in a quiet place to recover from the night of defence we undertook in the arsenal without any significant rest. Only it wasn't really time for a nap.

From the remote vantage point at the edge of the forest, we could see burnt buildings and above all screams, screams of fear and agony.

Together we made the decision to help the Imperials attack the town. We ran, sweated and fought in places where gunpowder and blood were no longer bearable to smell. We added to it ourselves by killing civilians. The orders were clear, no survivors.

We then went into a house that used to be bourgeois but has lost its prestige. There we met the Commodore's squad, who were winning, against these scoundrels.

After the fight, the Commodore took us back to the ship.

The city was purged of the filth that was the pirates.

Managed to spend a lot of time in the woodland making the most of the rich greenery and sunlight. This photo was easily my favourite from the day.

Managed to catch Ryan on the 9th March. He did two displays, one in BM with his boss. In the afternoon Ryan took up BV, on both practices Ryan showed that this years display has lots of burners. Can't wait till he's at display height!

Managed to drag myself out of bed for a sunrise great morning but by lunchtime I was playing scrabble in the community hall on Bryher with the rain pouring down. I hasten to add none of the family had taken waterproofs with them.

Not managed much photography this weekend...snapped this in't garden, slight crop, otherwise straight out of the camera.

Thanks for looking :)

But I managed to conduct myself with a modicum of dignity while shopping. I’m S L O W L Y getting the hang of hair care and hoping my styling appointment this month will create some “look” I can live with. The close up was the last of the day (checking I’m not too swollen for a previous worn outfit), but it gives a glimpse as to what I’m working towards, a soft, (obvious feminine) sweep. I’ve more than enough “body” but less “coverage” than I prefer. Not sure I want bangs, but have to keep it age appropriate (without the purple wash, thank you). I’ve managed to get slight control over my weight- the wrinkles are a lost cause. Love love love❤️

A year ago I managed to find on Bricklink the set this figure came in at its original retail price. I decided to get the set instead of paying half the price for the minifig. However the set was among those I got but never had time to built. One of the last things I did before leaving Belgium was opening the sealed set to grab the minifigures as the set had to stay in Belgium with the majority of my LEGO collection for an undetermined period.

All others minifigs had already been packed so Amidala, Qui Gon, Obiwan and... Jar Jar Binks, all had the privilege to make the trip to the North in the same plastic box as Yoda and Ackbar.

Managed to catch this one, he/she lingered in the bird bath instead of a quick dip and fly off! :-)

Well I guess that this is my last shot of 2024! I have only managed to put up 22 shots this year which is equivalent to less than 2 shots each month but I guess I did have a couple of updated shots this year which brought the total up to 24. However, what I have lacked in quantity I hope I have made up for in quality and interesting photos.

This is where I say thank for viewing my channel this year and for all the new followers I have gained thanks so much, its genuinely appreciated and I never take for granted the amount of favourites I get as over 100 was genuinely unimaginable.

I don't know about you but this year has flown by and been a rather challenging year. When starting the year with major surgery and subsequentially been behind with life for 5 months and having to learn to walk again it was rather mentally intense. For those who have struggled know that it will get better and good times lie ahead.

As we look forward, continue to look after people, make connections, build community and be empathetic as people are only human and continue to struggle but by being there can really make the day better.

For 2025, they are the goals to be more content, calmer and less of a perfectionist. But lets continue to be there for one another, I also hope that everybody had a great Christmas and if possible in a period of calm and restful.

Now shall we move onto the bus. For my Christmas/end of year shot I wanted one to look festive and atmospheric. I try to avoid the centre of Edinburgh for the majority as I feel like loads of shots are taken there and its great to get out of the centre. But, making an exception I thought the Mound would be good as there is usually a nicely lit tree. How wrong was I This year the tree was hardly visible so a change was required and I was passing Waverley and realised that the lighting would look quite nice.

Waverley Bridge returned to fleet usage in June of this year after 4 years being closed to the public initially for Covid 19 restrictions and then for prioritising pedestrians which I completely understand. However, due to the terrible fire at Jenner's last year repair work was needed, this meant that the Airlink services were in need of a new home, so Waverley Bridge was back in actions and will be for the next 2 years.

These XLB buses have been taking the Airlink loads for the best part of 5 and a half years with a small Covid break in between, they are perfect as they have lots of seats and also look really grand and impressive. I remember when I first rode on one as a "I want to ride one of these" the bus that turned up that November Friday back in 2019 was 1136.

Ever since I have really wanted a shot of 1136 but the opportunity has never until now presented itself. But when I had decided what location my shots was going to be in to my luck in was Lothian Buses 1136 that was trundling down the Mound, About 15 shots later (the driver must have thought I was mad as no other bus got a single snap) I managed to get a rather well composed and atmospheric shot of the royal blue bus.

So, here we see Lothian Buses Airlink 1136 collecting a lot of passengers at the terminus as it begins another ride out to the Airport on a cold but sunny Thursday afternoon in December.

Finally, a huge thanks for 2024 and wishing you all the best for 2025!!!

done by Josephine at Needles, 7/30 - the day before Harry Potter's birthday.

Managed to spot a tiny Common Blue flitting around the Clay Pit nature reserve a few days ago, luckily it balanced on top of a grass stem for a few seconds before going on another mazy flight. E-M5/60mm.

Managed to get close to this Hare today as it ambled through the grass towards me.A wonderful experience to get so close to these amazing animals!
