KX57OVR was a MAN 12.240 / Plaxton Centro B38F purchased new by JPT Travel of Middleton in December 2007. It was then loaned by Dawson Rentals to various fleets including First Glasgow in 2011 and Bay Travel, and was snapped in Cowdenbeath.

The two Centros allocated to this hourly route for capacity reasons provide a rare alternative to the great horde of Solos used on other ex Bowers work in the High Peak fleet. Not so pleasant I suspect are the Urban 90 seats and decision to desecrate the windows with meaningless drivel in the name of promotion on a route which offers quite spectacular views along several parts of its course.
This one was originally registered FJ09ZKC however gained what I think should now be termed a nostalgia plate in the months prior to the April 2012 merger.

The Optare Esteem (introduced in 2006 as the East Lancs Esteem, and sold as the Darwen Esteem between 2007 and 2008) is a single-deck bus body. It has been built on Scania N94UB, Scania N230UB, Volvo B7RLE, MAN 12.240, Dennis Dart SLF, Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Dart and Alexander Dennis Enviro300 chassis.
Metrobus have the largest number of the original East Lancs Esteems, some of which are on Scania and MAN chassis while the remainder are on Dennis Dart SLF chassis.
This vehicle is one of just six of its type to be built - the East Lancs Esteem body was not particularly popular on the Volvo B7RLE chassis, with Kent County Council being the only operator to take delivery of this combination, when they purchased six examples in 2008.

JWC/D/E arrived new to TM from Dawson Rentals in 2008 with SYPTE's aimless Sheffield FreeBee tender in mind, indeed the trio were given branding on top of SYPTE base colours and operated this route until displaced in July last year when the contract was won by First. They have since been debranded, however, symptomatic of the Wellglade Group's lack of investment, have yet to receive anything in the way of a repaint, giving them a rather unloved appearance. Personally though, I'd recommend detonating a large amount of explosives beneath them, they feel like they came from Poundland, perform poorly and their painful Urban 90 seats boast of the ability to ruin even a superb route such as this one.

Hello
I thought that since I didn't upload anything new for a while. I bring some of my past photos that I remember the story of capturing it or how I arrange it.
This idea is inspired from the photographer Jill Greenberg, I still remember how I easily made her cry by just saying " your mom is gonna go and leave you here" and BOOM!
2. taking photos in the desert !
I was with them in the middle of the desert and got separated from them in a funny way! I was trying to take a photo and I saw them from a distance, I waved at them to notice me and return to take my photo. the next minute I didn't see them! and I walked for about half an hour inside the desert trying to catch up with them.
I did a photoshop design 6 years ago with the same idea and it has a girl with a gothic look and a red rose. So I tried it like this!
Do you believe that I got my 70-200mm lens inside there! and after I took this shot a police man caught me, glad that he didn't take the camera.
I was walking in the streets of makkah when I saw this little african girl playing in the sand with a plastic pipe in the middle of the street. still remember the way she looked at me from that distance and just ignored me !
this was acutely is just the princess, but Anwar didn't give me that expression, instead she gives me the sad look!
we know that there is a lot like this, but if you see it by your own eyes. wouldn't make you feel bad for this world that made this old man do this kind of work!
This boy with his big eyes was just passing by me while I was taking street shots. and stood and looked at my big lens ! I still remember him
9. Happy peek
I saw here with my friend just pointed the camera and she run away inside her house, so I was standing by me and my friend and the minute she was out took my shot !
10. Happy Tears - old man [12]
this old man was talking to us about his life and some stories, we really loved his talk !
11. the story of two sisters and the sun
two sisters made them hold hands and look to the sea.
12. Indian baby
She was crying with her mother outload and when I started shooting with my 70-200mm she stopped and watched carefully then she started to smile and laugh, was so happy to make this baby smile
13. Two Tears
This one also was crying because his mother left him to get something I guess, I came behind him and made some noise to make him look at my lens and there it is.
These stories I don't just recall them, I still remember them like it was yesterday and I remember them more when I look to the photo.
I hope you enjoy my stories =]

2. taking photos in the desert !
9. Happy peek
10. Happy Tears - old man [12]
11. the story of two sisters and the sun
12. Indian baby
13. Two Tears

The Esteem was launched by East Lancashire Coachbuilders. When they went into administration, they were bought by Darwen Group and the Esteem was rebranded.
Darwen later performed a reverse takeover of Optare, resulting in the Esteem being rebranded again. Metrobus have the largest number of the original East Lancs Esteems, some of which are on Scania and MAN chassis while the remainder are on Dennis Dart SLF chassis (which has now been superseded by the Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Dart).
The first two Esteems to be built on the Alexander Dennis Enviro300 chassis were delivered to Courtney Coaches in 2006, and were the first Enviro300s with bodywork not built by Alexander Dennis. Other companies who have Esteems in service are Stagecoach in Preston, Heathrow Airport (on contract to an operator) and many more.
The first few examples of the Esteem only had new front and rear ends, the sides still being of the older Myllennium design. There are also two double-deck variants of this body - the Olympus and the Visionaire (open top).
An open top single decker, the Panaire was also available but no orders were ever placed. A East Lancs demonstrator has toured the UK (2006/2007, some of the main places it has been to are London, with Blue Triangle; Nottingham, with Nottingham City Transport; Reading, with Reading Buses Picture, Blackburn, with Blackburn Transport and Southampton, with Uni-link.
The first customers for the Esteem under Darwen ownership were Preston Bus, one of whose vehicles was shown at Coach and Bus Live 2007. As of December 2008, the Esteem has been removed (along with the Solo+) from the products list on Optare's website. Production of Optare Esteem ended in 2009, with the last being built on Enviro200 Dart chassis for Go-Ahead London.

COMMUNITY BUS RETURNS
By PETER FRANKLIN, Horowhenua Chronicle, November 12, 2014
Fancy getting together with a friend or two and spending the day out on a Friday, doing some shopping, getting a coffee or just spending time wondering around the shops?
Horowhenua's Day Out In Town Community Bus service is making a comeback, providing low-cost travel between Levin, Waitarere, Foxton, Foxton Beach and Shannon every Friday.
Following a 12-week trial in 2013, the service is restarting on Friday, November 14.
Funding the service for the first six months has come from the New Zealand Lotteries Commission. To extend that period a further six months, Horowhenua District Council and Te Horowhenua Trust are looking at other funding sources.
Te Horowhenua Trust chief executive Joann Ransom said there was a proven need for the community bus service.
"Towards the end of the 2013 trial, all 37 passengers on one of the services were surveyed. The feedback received demonstrates the need for such a bus and the multitude of services that it provided access to. It also highlights that the bus was already near its 45 seat capacity after a few short weeks," she' said.
Warwick Marshall from Foxton was one of the community bus service's regular users during its trial. He said there is certainly demand for the service and if it was there, it would be used.
"I sold my car and bought a bike to get around Foxton. But I need to go to Levin about once a week," he said. It was disappointing when the bus service stopped, he said.
Passengers will be charged a $2 one-way fare to supplement the funding and help strengthen a business case to Horizons Regional Council, which is responsible for public transport, to take over operating the service longer-term.
The bus service will run every Friday, including Boxing Day and the New Year's public holiday on January 2.
