Als "Berliner Stadtmaler" und Erfinder der starckdeutschen Poesie hat sich Matthias seit Jahrzehnten seinen Platz in der Kunstgeschichte erarbeitet. Einzigartig sein Talent, auch aktuelle politische Ereignisse in Malerei umzusetzen. Und über alles breitet sich der endlose Himmel. Ich erinnere mich, wie ich bereits als blutjunger Student von seinen Darstellungen des Himmels beeindruckt war. Damals saßen wir abends im Natubs oder trafen uns bei ihm im Atelier.

this is a photo of a treesnake eating a gekko.the gekko and the snake fell from a tree above us when we were swimming in Lambir Hills National Park in Malaysia.I was on a holiday to Borneo with my parents and my sister . When we heard the snake and the gekko fall from the very high tree. .At first we were scared but someone said the snake was not dangerous, so I could lie real close on the ground and take pictures. The snake attcked the gekko and curled around him . then he killed him and started to swalow him.It took so long that I could take many pictures of it. this picture is taken at the beginning . Later on the small snake swallowed the big gekko completely, which is also a funny photo.

The small, unassuming chapel of St Jacques on the edge of Monesties hides a real gem and one of the region's greatest medieval treasures, the sculptural group known as the 'mise au tombeau', the lamentation over the dead Christ.
It was commissioned in 1490 by Louis d'Amboise, bishop of Albi, for the chapel of his residence, the chateau of Combefa where they remained until the castle was abandoned in 1761. Thirteen years later they were brought to nearby Monesties and installed in the small chapel of St Jacques where they have remained to this day.
The sculptures are superbly expressive examples of late 15th century French gothic sculpture, and in an excellent state of preservation with much of their original polychromy preserved.
In the centre lies the body of Christ as laid in the tomb, above which is a Pieta group and Crucifix, as if to illustrate the previous chapters of the narrative. On either side stand the mourners with Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. On the left is Mary weeping and St John with the crown of thorns, whilst to the right Mary Magdalene is prominent, along with two grieving women touchingly holding hands.
The chapel also contains stalls and misericords, presumably from the same source and some contemporary abstract glass. It is no longer used for services and run as a visitor attraction, being recognised as a historic monument of high importance.
