Les immatures mâles et femelles sont de couleurs semblables : face jaune et yeux jaune brun, avant du thorax brun marqué de noir, les flancs du thorax jaunes avec deux lignes noires, l'abdomen jaune avec deux bandes noires (d'où le nom commun d'Orthétrum réticulé), délimitant des lunules sur les côtés des segments.
Les mâles, à l'abdomen gris-bleu, se perchent bien en évidence et pourchassent furieusement du territoire qu'ils revendiquent tout rival potentiel. Ils interceptent tout aussi vivement les femelles qui y apparaissent pour tenter de s'accoupler avec elles.

hier ist ein Blesshuhn zu nahe an das Nest der Lachmöwe gekommen. Die Folgen sind auf den nachfolgenden Bildern zu sehen!
Mal at Work
Here's Mal, one of the men volunteers at work at the Repair Café which we visited.
He showed me the merry-go-round he had repaired so that "the drummer drums and the lights flash on and off."
Looking at the back of the clock, originally from Jersey Pottery, he had decided to completely replace the mechanism and the battery casing.
I made him laugh when I told him that I am totally in awe of anyone who can take an item to pieces to solve a problem - and put it back together again.
Au début d'une chaude soirée d'été, je lisais un bon livre assise confortablement dans ma balançoire quand tout à coup un couple de Cardinal se pointe et me tient compagnie pendant quelques minutes...
Voici le mâle sur une table juste en dessous de la femelle. Je les ai eu près de moi plusieurs minutes...

Noch nie zuvor habe ich einen Himmel gesehen, der täglich neu ein Wolkenschauspiel in zahlreichen Akten aufführte.
Wenn man wie hier Glück hatte, dass der Wind schwieg, konnte man sie sogar im Wasser des Mälaren betrachten...
Mit diesem Bild endet meine Schweden-Serie vorläufig.
Der Alltag hat mich längst wieder und es wird Zeit für neues Kamerafutter... ;-))

Seit jeher hat mich der VT 628 fasziniert und umso erfreulicher ist es, dass er auch im Jahre 2026 noch seine Runden drehen darf. Am 1. Mai stand dann nach viel zu langer Zeit mal wieder ein Ausflug in die Südpfalz zum RE6 auf dem Plan. Der glänzende 628 455, der im Jahre 2023 erst Neulack bekam drehte zusammen mit dem ehemaligen SyltShuttle 628 501 "Hörnum" seine Runden und eins dieser Bilder entstand am erst kürzlich freigeschnittenen nördlichen Spiegelei von Kandel, führend mit Hörnum, wo sich sogar etwas Blüte zeigte.
Doch nun ist es passiert, die ersten Akku Flirt sind in der Pfalz angekommen und es wird nur eine Frage der Zeit sein, bis die ersten Schulungsfahrten stattfinden und den 628 ablösen. Auch die alte Sicherungstechnik wird alsbald durch das ESTW ersetzt. Genießen wir es also noch, solange es geht! Und so wird mein nächster Ausflug in die Südpfalz auch nicht lange auf sich warten lassen.

Inizio della famosissima Republic Street (Triq ir-Repubblika), il cuore pedonale, culturale e dello shopping della capitale maltese.
- Il maestoso palazzo ottocentesco in pietra calcarea che domina la scena è il Palazzo Ferreria (noto anche come Palazzo Francia o Buttiġieġ-Francia).
Costruito nella seconda metà del XIX secolo (inaugurato nel 1876) sull'antico sito della fonderia dell'Ordine dei Cavalieri di San Giovanni, nacque come lussuosa residenza privata della famiglia Buttiġieġ.
Oggi è di proprietà del governo e ospita uffici ministeriali.
Progettato dall'architetto maltese Giuseppe Bonavia, l'edificio spicca per il suo eccezionale stile neogotico veneziano, che si ispira fortemente ai palazzi della laguna.
La caratteristica più evidente della facciata è la presenza dei balconi chiusi in legno dipinti di verde acceso, l'elemento architettonico più iconico di Malta.
Chiamati comunemente gallarija, si ritiene che derivino dalla mashrabiya dell'architettura arabo-islamica, pensata per consentire di guardare all'esterno salvaguardando la privacy domestica.
Il colore verde scuro o brillante divenne storicamente popolare per via dei forti legami commerciali e logistici con la Marina britannica, che importava massicciamente questa tonalità di vernice sull'isola.
- Sulla destra si notano i colonnati monumentali della Piazza del Teatro Reale (Teatru Rjal).
Si tratta dell'ex teatro d'opera ottocentesco, parzialmente distrutto dai bombardamenti della Seconda Guerra Mondiale e riconvertito in tempi recenti da Renzo Piano in un suggestivo teatro all'aperto.
Subito accanto (non visibile ma situato di fronte al palazzo) sorge il moderno edificio del Nuovo Parlamento maltese, anch'esso parte del grande progetto di riqualificazione urbana firmato da Renzo Piano.
The beginning of the world-famous Republic Street (Triq ir-Repubblika), the pedestrian, cultural, and shopping heart of the Maltese capital.
- The majestic 19th-century limestone palace that dominates the scene is the Palazzo Ferreria (also known as Palazzo Francia or Buttiġieġ-Francia).
Built in the second half of the 19th century (inaugurated in 1876) on the former site of the foundry of the Order of the Knights of St. John, it began as a luxurious private residence for the Buttiġieġ family.
Today, it is owned by the government and houses ministerial offices.
Designed by Maltese architect Giuseppe Bonavia, the building stands out for its exceptional Venetian Neo-Gothic style, strongly inspired by the lagoon palaces.
The most striking feature of the façade is the presence of enclosed wooden balconies painted bright green, Malta's most iconic architectural feature.
Commonly called gallarija, they are believed to derive from the mashrabiya of Arab-Islamic architecture, designed to allow one to look out while maintaining domestic privacy.
The dark or bright green color historically became popular due to the strong commercial and logistical ties with the British Navy, which imported this shade of paint to the island on a massive scale.
- On the right, you can see the monumental colonnades of the Royal Theatre Square (Teatru Rjal).
This is the former 19th-century opera house, partially destroyed by bombing during World War II and recently converted by Renzo Piano into a charming open-air theater.
Immediately next door (not visible but located opposite the building) stands the modern New Maltese Parliament building, also part of Renzo Piano's major urban redevelopment project.

Heute vor einem Jahr, am 18. Juli 2020, lud die Museumseisenbahn Schönheide zu ihren alljährlichen Sommernachts- und Mondscheinfahrten ein. Ein weiterer Anlass sich das mal anzuschauen war der letzte Einsatztag der 99 582. Seit diesem Tag ist die 99 582 kalt und mittlerweile schon in Aufarbeitung. Somit kann uns die Lok in Zukunft wieder Dampf machen!
Zum Bild, in der Einfahrt des Bahnhofs Neuheide konnte der Star des Tages festgehalten werden.
Da mir gestern die Zeit fehlte und ich den erst besten Quatsch gepostet habe, versorge ich euch mal einem Foto das durchaus etwas chicer ist.
