The original photos is not mine: the makeover is. Hopefully it may be considered as fair use:) If you are the copyright holder of the original photo and want the image to be removed, contact me and I will do it immediately.

Now that the word is out that Chris Evans will play Captain America on the big screen (also played the Human Torch in F4 movies), I felt like doing my own Captain America version. Before I described my rendition, just wanna give a shoutout that I'm not an advocate of a celebrity playing multiple superheroes (what will happen if they decide to do an Avenger movie with the Fantastic Four on it? See what I mean?) :D

Ok now that I got that out of the way... I tried to do this piece attempting to be as different as possible to the real Captain America of Marvel (that is, if there's anything original left in the comic world). Like the mask for instance, you can tell it's nothing but an enlarged and modified Captain Am's original logo (does Captain America really had an "A" logo with wings? As far as I remember I think he has... pardon me, last time I drew C.A. was when I was--I think--in the 3rd grade). Perhaps it may also reminds you of an Indian turkey feather hat :D (which hey, makes sense too, because it commemorates the original Americans: the Red Indians :D ) On a more personal note, the head piece reminds me of Dinagyang festival as well (a local festival in my hometown where people wear tribal costumes with feathers and paints, dancing on the streets ala Mardi Gras). Ok we're sidetracking here... back to the costume... it was a total makeover except leaving the star emblem behind. (Funny I can't get the Star Spangled Banner tune off my head when I was drawing the character).

The coloring were lackadaisical, did not pay too much intricacy to it so there you go. At least to me it looks close to the vibrant coloring style of old. Didn't do too much lineart cleaning and not too crazy with the uppers, either. Anyhow, hope you 'all like it! :D

another play on my long straight hair. the waves were a result of wearing my hair in a bun all day. the color transformation from brown-black to coppery blond hair and brown to blue eyes were done in photoshop.

Is it better to leave "natural" or to "enhance" a portrait ? Any thoughts appreciated.

The before and after.

So I've been trying to spruce up a lot of my Bratz with really bad super frizzy nylon hair to put back on my shelf looking in more of a better condition, lots to do though!
