A trip to the thrift store brought home two dolls in serious need of a makeover at Rubi's Salon.
Rubi is showing her displeasure since her salon is still unfinished. She's got that left foot tapping!
This is a project that took me like 6 months to finish and I proud that its done now and I love it, I found this old chandelier and I decided to painted AQUA and hang it in the livingroom + studio =) I really like it!
A quick stop in their Ladies room, trying to hide my bare nails, then on to Nail Salon; that was an adventure!
For Kaela's 9th birthday party, she had a "makeover party." We abandoned the traditional party this year, and decided to have her invite a select number of girls over to the house. Various mothers agreed to set up different "beauty stations" where the girls could have their hair, makeup, and nails done. It was a real hit (and it saved us a lot of money!!).
Here, Kaela is getting her hair made up at the hair station.

Vanity getting the better of me and so am posting a couple of final portraits from my makeover this week. I can assure you no AI - just a minor tweak on the eye and skin tone in Lightroom!
A new wig for Tiffany Taylor! It's a bit too much Shirley Temple but it is stylable. Before I glue it on I'm going to try bleaching some of the orange out of her skin. These doll companies must have used the cheapest plastics and vinyls they could find!
Vintage plastic or vinyl 18" fashion dolls, Tiffany Taylor, Ideal, 1975. This doll did have a rotating scalp with white-blonde hair on one side and black hair with bangs on the other. Groovy embroidered bell bottoms with fringed hem made by me. Tank top is cut from 99¢ store knit cap. In my collection. Feb. 2011.
