This is the beginning of our all-day taxi tour from Rodney Bay to Soufrière. We originally had one booked for the day before that took us by boat instead of car, but the hurricane derailed that plan.

I was trying to get a picture of the "Proudly maintained by Sandals" sign on the weather-beaten and not very well maintained bus stop, but an SUV ruined it (what's new?).

Maintaining an edge is one thing, but letting our edge in innovation dull has repercussions for the amount of food we can produce, the quality of life we live, and the potential for the next thing that will change the world. Are we keeping pace? Is Are the private sector, government, and the academy disrupting enough to innovate more or is there a stagnation that threatens continued development? Are certain parts of the world innovating better than other parts, who are the major catalyzers, and where does the intersection of technology and biology come into play?

Clumber Park, in Nottinghamshire, uses Jacob sheep, a rare breed of small, piebald (coloured with white spots), and polycerate (multi-horned) sheep, to maintain the heathland, the shrubland habitat with low quality acidic soil, and open, low growing woody vegetation, to the south of the lake.

Jacobs have from two to six horns and the most common color is black and white and are usually raised for their wool and meat.

Jabobs have been used as guard animals to protect farm property and livestock from theft or vandalism in the past.

This is the door used to maintain the "Keeper Of The Plains" Statue. The entire facility, from the bridge work to the island, to the island and the man made faux stone pedestal is theme based. There is even a sound track with native songs and music playing just loud enough to be heard. Thus the styling of the door is appreciated by even the casual visitor.

At night, there is a ring of fire around the front of the island. This serves to make for a stunning scene. If you are ever near Wichita, KS and you have the time. Be sure and stop by.

Villa Gregoriana is a park located in Tivoli, Italy. It is maintained by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI), which gives free entry to its members and to members of the UK's National Trust.

The park, located at the feet of the city's ancient acropolis, was commissioned by Pope Gregory XVI in 1835 to rebuild the bed of the Aniene River, which had been damaged by the flood of 1826. Since ancient times, the river formed a wide curve around the acropolis, after which it fell from a limestone's spur into the plain below. The river formed originally four falls, now reduced to two. The site had a strategical importance since it commanded the route from Abruzzo along the road which later become the Via Valeria. The Romans had already built here hydraulic pumps, 12 of which are known by findings today.

It had fallen into ruins by the end of the 20th century, but was reopened to the public in 2005 thanks to a major landscape recovery project orchestrated by the FAI, the Italian National Trust.

Villa Gregoriana consists mainly of thick woodlands with paths that lead to the caves of Neptune and the Sirens, which form part of a series of gorges and cascades, and to the Great Waterfall.

The Malone Road (from Irish Maigh Lón, meaning 'plain of lambs')[1] is a radial road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, leading from the university quarter southwards to the affluent suburbs of Malone and Upper Malone, each a separate electoral ward. The road runs parallel to the Lisburn Road and is linked by over a dozen side streets, while at its northern end, the Stranmillis Road rejoins the Malone Road to form University Road, which in turn joins with the Lisburn Road to become Bradbury Place. Most of the road is in the BT9 postcode district.

At the southern end of the Malone Road lies Malone House, a mansion in the late Georgian style. The house is now maintained by Belfast City Council.[2]

The residential streets leading off the Malone Road and Upper Malone Road are known for their high property prices,[3] in particular, Malone Park. In Northern Ireland culture, the area has become synonymous with affluence, making the general BT9 area comparable to the D4 postal district of Dublin.[citation needed]

This item comprises part of a collection which is inscribed on the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register - The Convict Records of Queensland 1825 – 1842

This series consists of monthly returns of prisoners and their employment at Moreton Bay penal settlement. These returns were kept in compliance with Governor Brisbane's instructions of 1824, and regulation 26.5 of 1829.

Under the general heading: "Monthly return of prisoners maintained by government at Moreton Bay", from the first to the last day of the month, and year, there are columns listing 38 trades (for example, Clerks, Constables, Overseers, Blacksmiths, Carpenters, Saddlers, Cooks, Labourers, etc.). On the left-hand side of these columns are various headings including: "Total number as per last return"; "Received as per particulars annexed"; "Discharged, Died or Run as per particulars annexed"; with Totals for each trade and overall. The totals for each trade and overall totals are then included for those assigned to particular departments such as Agricultural Department, Superintendent of Works Department, Medical Department etc. Further totals for particulars such as Volunteers, Under Original Sentence, and Under Colonial Sentence are also included. The highest overall total recorded is 1020 for September 1831 and the lowest is 316 for February 1837

On the facing page of each return are details of "the particulars annexed" for that month. These appear under two headings: Particulars of Prisoners Received, and Particulars of Prisoners Died, Discharged or Run (or Absconded)

Under "Prisoners Received", details are included under the sub-headings: No., Name, Ship, Trade, and Remarks (frequently absconding). Under " Prisoners Discharged" etc., details are included under the sub-headings: No. Name, Trade, Remarks (such as died, absconded, sentence)

The returns were signed by Commandant Clunie from 31 October1830 - 30 September 1835. Other signatures are not as legible

This volume contains six series of returns. Some of these series begin at the back of the book, upside down. At an unknown time, page numbers, starting from the back of the book, have been added in pencil. These prisoners' returns are on pages 2- 187

B-17G "Sally B", maintained and flown privately as a memorial to the American Air Forces in Europe during WWII, in the line up for Duxford's 2024 Battle of Britain Airshow. The Flying Fortress was the mainstay for the American air arm of the strategic air offensive against Hitler's Germany, following a differing philosophy of targeting from RAF Bomber Command. The Flying Fortresses of the US 8th Air Force persisted with daylight precision bombing, increasingly aided by their own long range escort fighters culminating in the remarkable Mustang. The B-17G shown here featured improvements over the previous F-model including the addition of a remotely operated chin turret firing its two 0.5 inch Brownings forwards to counter head-on fighter attacks.
