Post Danmark was Denmark's national mail operator, using trucks and vans in a orange-yellow livery like the one seen here. In 2009 Post Danmark merged with swedish Posten AB, but no visible changes were made to the vehicles until 2016, when it was announced, that the new colour scheme would be blue and white (to match the swedish vehicles) and the name Post Danmark would be phased out in favour of Postnord.

Severe financial problems meant, that updating the vehicle liveries would take low priority, and well into 2018, the old livery was still a common sight. This photo offers an interesting transition view, with the tractor still in the old livery and the trailer having the new look.

Going up the steep hill leading sw out of Aarhus past Viby and Stautrup. Underpowered and/or heavily loaded trucks often struggle here.

Tip: to locate trucks of particular interest to you, check my collections page, "truck collection" - here you will find all trucks organized in albums, by haulier (with zip-codes), year, brand and country.

Retirement age for trucks: many used trucks are offered for sale on international markets. If sold to a foreign buyer, this will not be listed in the danish motor registry, so a "retired" truck may or may not have been exported. In other words, the "retirement age" only shows the age, at which the truck stopped running on danish license plates.

In their own words...

Sara, age 2 - Cuz LEGOs are building. I like LEGOs.

Max, age 5.5 - I like building with LEGOs with my family cause it is fun and it makes me happy.

1st day of delivery with FSS mail. I had a flat coverage in addition to DPS letters and residual letters/flats. I set up my mail with the flat coverage as a 4th bundle by using 3 stacked FSS trays sandwiched between the tray post and my seat.

he made two quick trips up to our house, and the second time (shown here), he parked in the deeper snow and ended up skidding backwards for a bit before he could get back onto the cleared road. i can think of more enjoyable things to do on a cold saturday, but he seems to have a really good attitude about it.

I was given the task of dropping the mail off after work. Because it was already six (pickup time) I figured I had missed the mail truck and it wouldn't get out til the next day. Imagine my surprise when the mailman was still at the box!
