Photo of the day December 13, 2021 - I was out getting some pictures when the postal vehicle drove by delivering the mail. Decided, since I had the camera out already, I would snap a picture.

Yes we did - for over an hour. For Flo from Progressive Auto Insurance - this one's for you.
Why, you ask? 14 years ago in Thornton's parking lot we were broadsided by a big truck. I was stopped at the corner. The truck driver said he thought he ran over a cooler. When he got back to the shop his boss and his insurance company (Progressive) told him to say it was my fault, which he did. Except we took photos which disproved that theory.
Now today, 14 years later, we had a little "bump" - either this mail truck hit me or my bumper jumped two feet off the ground into the gash above this mail truck's tires to cause the dent they claimed. So here we sat in the parking lot for at least an hour while I did what I learned to do - *get the facts*, get my insurance company on the phone and take photos. The alleged mail supervisors then said, "photos - you want photos?" Then proceeded to circle our Lexus and took photos at all angles.
Needless to say I did invest in a dashcam a week earlier and it did it's job. A $49 dashcam from Walmart. It did not malfunction, it did not skip, it did not fail, unlike those our law enforcement utilizes.
However, in order to protect MYSELF and my driving record I felt it would be prudent for me to immediately contact my auto insurance company as false claims seem to abound in Louisville, Kentucky, these days.
The postman was very, very nice. The two alleged postal service supervisors above who showed up seemed concerned. So concerned, in fact, they refused to give me or my insurance company their names and flipped their badges over.
What is interesting to note is there are no license tags on this vehicle, nor is there anything identifying what type of vehicle it is with the exception of the numbers painted on the side of the truck. I do not even know if this is in fact a real mail truck as I was given no postal service identification, even when asked (with my insurance company on the phone).
I was rather surprised these vehicles have no dashcams onboard. No A/C, either. Apparently the US Government does not see a need for any of the above although today it might have been to their benefit - hard to say. Interestingly enough I have been told by my insurance company none of these trucks are insured. I wonder why that is? Fascinating read on the law and US mail trucks: www.injuryrelief.com/truck-accident-law/vehicle-type/mail...

A desolate january afternoon.
Post Danmark was Denmark's national mail operator, using trucks and vans in a orange-yellow livery like the one seen here. In 2009 Post Danmark merged with swedish Posten AB, but no visible changes were made to the vehicles until 2016, when it was announced, that the new colour scheme would be blue and white (to match the swedish vehicles) and the name Post Danmark would be phased out in favour of Post Nord.
Severe financial problems meant, that updating the vehicle liveries would take low priority, and over a year later, the majority of vehicles still retained their original liveries.

Retirement age for trucks: many used trucks are offered for sale on international markets. If sold to a foreign buyer, this will not be listed in the danish motor registry, so a "retired" truck may or may not have been exported. In other words, the "retirement age" only shows the age, at which the truck stopped running on danish license plates.

Going down the steep hill leading northeast into Aarhus. The motorway ends by Ã…havevej
in Viby. From here, the trucks can continue straight on to Marselis Boulevard across
Skanderborgvej before ending at the port of Aarhus, 6 km from here.

I'm also using this for today's Photogamer challenge, "Matching," since he has a matching pajama set!
E is for....EXTREMELY Exhausted. What a long hairy ugly day! The postmaster rode around in my mailtruck with me all day--checking the route and making sure I did EVERYTHING by the book--very stressful. Then I ran to Walmart, so I could run to parent teacher conference so I could run to the grocery store. I'm done running. I'm done anythinging tonight. There is a bathtub and a bed with my name on them. (oh, after I do the dishes.)
Of course, my laptop does fit on my bed, so I just may find some energy left to look at your great pictures!
