OK, I'm sure when you look at this you see a couple of tired, old, mailboxes. When I look at it, I see a brand-spanking-new mailbox post! After sixteen years of being in the ground, the day before yesterday our mailbox fell over in our mail carrier's hands. I spent a couple of hours yesterday bustin' out concrete, and today I built my very first post. Hopefully, by the time this one needs to be replaced, I'll be looooong gone. ;-)
My son's newest toy... after 2 days of intense crafting. The instructions were on this blog: giverslog.com/?p=2531
Because he's too little to generate his own mail I went a few steps further and made "mail" with the names and pics of his family members that he can velcro to the sender or recipient part of the letters, velcro stamps, and different messages he can velcro to the backs of the cards. And, of course, a drawstring bag to keep all the little pieces in.
I want to write a letter just so I can drop it in this box. This must be shipped in from England, though. Lots of English on it!
This mailbox is in front of a huge property which hosts a house development of some kind and an Asian temple, which I'm guessing is a Buddhist temple. It's only one street down from my house and I still don't completely know what it is. (summer 2009)
Mailboxes at the old post office in Holualoa, which is a tiny neighbourhood with art galleries and great Kona coffee sold direct from the growers.
My father gave me this stand of mailboxes. I am going to use them in my craft room for display/storage.
New mailbox trail. This is just beyond the spot where the Bobcat is building the trail. The cutters have been through and downed the trees along the trail's path
I didn't want to finish out Grey month without a shot of our mail boxes.
I stop by this place every night on my way home from work.
This is where we all get our mail. Well everyone that lives in our area of the development.
I wish we had individual boxes in front of our house but I imagine it is easier for the postman this way.
