If you wondered what to do with this old rusty mailbox, then you may find here an answer. Use it as a new pot for plants ! Perfect idea combining design and recycling !
Granville Island in Vancouver has some really interesting floating houses. These are the mailboxes. Maybe one of them could be a vacation rental at Owner Direct Vacation Rentals one day!
"Right plant in the right place" Someone learned the hard way that a jacaranda is not an appropriate tree for a postage stamp sized front yard. So they chopped it down and put a mailbox on top of the stump. But it's sprouting again from the roots.
The Zork mailbox probably got more comments than anything else in our show. It wasn't easy to find a mailbox that looked like this - thanks to Bill Newman for the donation! We changed the numbers from his address to the year Zork was released.
Polaroid photograph of a mailbox in front of a house on Yoder Road, just west of US-27, in rural Allen County, Indiana. The mailbox is shaped like a pickup truck and is painted like the American flag! I photographed it on a rainy December morning.

Taken with my Minolta DiMAGE A1 on Worthington Road (SR 161) at the corner of Mink Road in Pataskala, Ohio. It's the mailbox for All Tails 'R' Waggin' boarding and grooming. The mailbox has since been damaged this winter, losing his head! I'm glad I pulled off the road and got a picture before that happened.
The mailbox was found in a old family farm dump site behind my house in Wake Forest NC. It had been smashed nearly flat between two trees that had grown up around it.
Mailbox across from the section of the Presidio owned by LucasFilm. Apparently Lucas even has the power to change mailboxes....
“Mail Safe”, the newest and
most innovative mailbox ever built.
This unit was designed and built by former letter carriers
with the latest customer security issues in mind. In a day of continuous mail theft from mailboxes, security is the utmost importance. We are introducing a new concept, the Mail Safe mailbox, which will allow customers the security and peace
of mind by being able to leave home without worrying over
the theft of incoming mail, end of month checks, critical medication or identity theft.
Customers may be able to leave on short vacations or
holidays without having to notify the Postal Service. This is
due to the large capacity of the locked holding bin beyond
the reach of potential drive-by mail thefts and vandals. The
Mail Safe mailbox can keep your mail dry and
It is constructed of high impact composite plastic
available in 6 granite colors with UV protection to prevent fading. This patent pending, two-piece design is very rugged and durable. It is resistant to impact from ball bats but will break away if struck by a motor vehicle.
At the low price of $219.99 (plus tax) and $35 shipping

asset to any home by providing a great first impression and enhancing curb appeal.

It looks like there's no mail arriving for a while... only a metal mailbox can be clobbered like this and retain its shape.
How does the picture make you feel?
Love the symbolism here.
After a Flickr break, it looks like I'm back at it! All it took was a little nudge from the group, put me on the spot actually, someone said "There's your daily shoot! Take a picture!". Well I think @KimMcGill had something to do with it.
Today’s Daily Shoot assignment is:
It's metal Monday! Find a metallic subject today and make an interesting photo.

This is classic! Love it! Air Mail at the top; email with the satellite dish; Busted Knuckle Drive (I guess that is the real address?); Junk Mail with the trash can; Fan Mail with the automobile fan; and the main for real mailbox. Brilliant and creative.
I followed a guest tutorial on Topaz Labs' Topaz Tuesday by Anita Bice, Part II: Architectural Renderings on 2 April 2013, plus several of my own effects in Photoshop to arrive at this rendering.
Notice the wall. It seems like they took down a modern mailbox and replaced it with this old looking one.
Map at new mailbox trailhead sign. It's realistic of them to leave the old trail on the map with the notation "Primitive old trail in difficult, steep terrain". I can't really argue with that, but there are already a number of blowdowns on the lower part of the trail that have not been cleared. It could be that the DNR strategy is to let them be.
It's cute that they have a mailbox icon at the summit!
