another receptacle for tags and bill posting... highly illegal I might add on this Canada Post mailbox!

The infamous black mailbox near the road to Groom Lake. Wish I could write to the aliens and ask them to stop the war.

I had to stop and take a picture of it! I drive to Key West and back once a month on business and this is new since my last trip!

Long exposure photo of a magical mailbox, used a mini light to illuminate everything.

This was a minimalist thing for me to do. there was a wall of mailboxes just like this one. One was special because of the owner was just moved there and wanted it as an illustration on a card as part of a series. Strobist info: 2 580's bounced into the opposite white wall. One cam left one cam right. The darker spot in the middle would be me.

A rural mailbox on a frosty morning.

For 116 in 2016 #65 "Mailbox"

Out on a Friday night - last day of term and a meal out with colleagues. It also rained but only a few drops as one can see on the canal.

It also featured "in explore"

There appears to be lots of dust sitting on top of this mailbox and it looks like there's a pair of eyes watching as you drop a letter in!

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo …. Thanks to you all!

I think it's funny how some mailboxes resemble faces. And when you also consider that mailboxes are very personal in most cases and often carry some very personal thoughts the comparison works even more for me. ...Btw. I kept all the blemishes on the mailbox on purpose, since human faces aren't perfect either, right!?

Last stop to take pictures on the Route and I got fixated on these mailboxes.

Go figure.

Snow is a rarity in the San Juan Islands of the Puget Sound area but it has been snowing for three day here.

Our mailbox quietly awaits the mail carrier on a snowy Nevada County day. I used to get excited to receive mail, however, the only stuff that seems to come by snail mail these days are bills and advertisements.

I grew up along this ridge of the Endless Mountains of NE PA. A great place in the summer, but not so in the winter.

Electric reflections on metal mailboxes in the lobby of an apartment building.

This is how my mailbox looked today before the mail carrier came.

Does anyone else remember those?

Noticed this pink building that used to be a restaurant. I don't know how long it's been closed. But I liked the color and found the mailbox interesting. This is SOOC.

This snow-covered mailbox was seen north of Watsons Corners, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.

Gmail isn't the only inbox I'm a slave to. The only things I get in the mail nowadays are bills, cards from my grandmothers, and junk. Today, I got an IKEA catalogue that was addressed to someone else (news flash: USPS sucks in Chicago), the Herald Extra (which is just a reprint of the ads and coupons from the Hyde Park Herald), and a bill for my next two months of health insurance (biggest goddamn scam in the whole world).
