I don't know if it's just a Northland thing, but there are some great mailboxes up here, and this is one of the best I saw.
All the mailboxes are the same, accept a couple of oddballs that chose to be different. Maybe thats not a bad thing.
This mailbox settles further toward the curb every year :) It seems made for Smurf people :) We laugh that soon some farmer in Asia will be hitting the post bottom while working in his garden!

Mailbox near the Milpitas Dog Park at Ed Levin Park (Santa Clara County, California). This is 10-15 minutes outside of the largest city in Northern California (San Jose).

A local friend alerted me to the fact that there was a bear mailbox on her street. Naturally, I went to visit! Just a few days later, she let me know that the bear had met with an accident & was no longer upright. Just goes to show, one should take one's pictures when the opportunity presents itself!
