This mailbox caught my eye because of the amount of rust that covered it and the texture created by it. Perfect candidate for my mailbox project.

And Fence Friday. HFF everyone!
This afternoon I went for a walk in my Sullivan's Gulch neighborhood in search of an interesting mailbox to photograph. I could not recall seeing any on my previous walks. So I ask the one person most likely to know where to find a interesting mailbox: the mail carrier. He said that he was a substitute and this was the first day on the route. But he did direct me to this one, just down the block from where we met. It was, by far, the best one I saw!
You may be wondering about the word "forever" in the lower right corner of my re-creation of a stamp. You would see this on a US postage stamp. Because the US Postal Service changes the price of a stamp so often, it is no longer cost effective to print stamps with the price on them. Forever stamps are good forever. The Postal Service incourages people to stock-up on Forever stamps just before a price increase.
For a chuckle see ODC alternative below. I found these on my own!
Stopped at the mailbox the other day on the way out and found this little guy living on the underside of the lid!

I guess the ghost is checking for that letter that never came. This mailbox is by a bridge, with no house anywhere around it. Leftover from another time.

This is my mailbox. It's really big. When we first moved into this house I couldn't figure out why it leaned back until I realized there was no place for us to put our recycling barrel except to lean it on the mailbox pole. I think someone purposely pushed it that way in the past just for that reason.
I think it's funny how some mailboxes resemble faces. And when you also consider that mailboxes are very personal in most cases and often carry some very personal thoughts the comparison works even more for me. ...Btw. I kept all the blemishes on the mailboxes on purpose, since human faces aren't perfect either, right!?
