The Magma Foxes of the Region of Fire are one of Okoto's friendliest Rahi. In the wild, they are seen as playful, approachable, kind, and gentle creatures. However, unlike the Region of Stone's Oko Kani, Magma Foxes cannot be domesticated - even when captured as a baby. They tend to be erratic, and difficult to keep in a home.

Magma Striders are found in small numbers along the outskirts of the Region of Fire. They are medium-sized, slow, passive Rahi which tend to migrate throughout the Region's outskirts, avoiding conflict and sticking together.

The Magma Entities of the Region of Fire are rarely seen on the surface. They are made of pure lava, and are found swimming in the Region's lava pools. They are hostile, but tend to ignore others unless approached. Their only method of attacking involves spraying lava at their opponent.

Krafla is a caldera of about 10 km in diameter with a 90 km long fissure zone, in the north of Iceland in the Mývatn region. Its highest peak reaches up to 818 m and it is 2 km in depth. There have been 29 reported eruptions in recorded history.
Caught at altitude. Air Atlanta Icelandic, operating as Magma flight 706, is a Boeing 747-412, passing my location at 34,000 feet. It's en-route to Greenville-Spartanburg South Carolina, from Frankfurt Germany.

Carved by ice age glaciers, the jagged profile of the Never Summer Mountains belies its volcanic origin. Between 26 and 28 million years ago magma rose in to the crust of the earth, and cooled to give a north-south alignment to the mountains. Explosive eruptions of lava and ash then filled valleys and buried nearby passes. Today, the volcanic products of those events still cover 25 m square miles of land.
Many of Von Nebula's henchmen have made the mistake of underestimating Magma. He may appear cool on the outside, but underneath he has a red hot temper. This temper is not just restricted to his enemies and many of his servants have been reduced to slag for incompetance.
In addition to this inner rage, Magma is equipped with Volcanic Blasters and forearm mounted Lava Blades. For now Magma is content to serve under Von Nebula, but his volatile nature indicates that he may erupt at any moment and strike out on his own ...

Magma was created for the Villains category of the Eurobricks Hero Factory Villains contest.
The first roll featured below was shot at another building that I’d discovered on Flickr before travelling, the magnificent Magma Conference Centre in Adeje.
Straight across the road from Magma is Siam Park, Europe’s largest water park and while many millions of holiday-makers will pass through its gates this year, I guess that only a handful will pay attention to the curving lines and brutal, shuttered-concrete facings of its neighbour.
I have a bit of a thing for concrete used in this way. The best example is of course the National Theatre in London, but in Tenerife, the imprints of the rough wooden frames that had been used to mould the poured concrete were just as dramatic. As with all concrete buildings of this type, the surface was stained with water and weathered, appearing almost organic. The shuttering, combined with a moulded, coloured texture designed to appear similar to local rock in the semi-desert surroundings.
