My Wife's Flowers - Croton "Codiaeum variegatum"

These flowers bloomed for the first time in over 20 years and my wife asked me to take pictures of this inflorescence for her. I somehow delayed taking these pictures. One day she came back from shopping and I got a small gadget - SMUKEE artificial sunset lamp. I put the pot with the flower on the table opposite the window, took a tripod (in the background there were our grandchildren's toys - some kind of plasticine), set up the artificial sun as additional lighting (on the right) and here is the result. I liked the pictures but my wife did not want to agree to publish them - since I was delaying taking them, but in the end she agreed to one picture.

The pine cone is about 1.5 cm in size.

It is native to a wide area ranging from Southern China to India and Myanmar. The flowers are about 5 cm long, funnel-shaped in violet, pink, or white color. Flowers appear on this plant in the late summer and early fall.

Wildflowers in the Rose Garden at Nymans ..

If you're a regular visitor you will have noticed a big change in the Rose Garden. Over the last few years there's been a marked decline in the health of the rose bushes. They carried out extensive research with specialists, concluding that the decline was due to an aging rose collection, poor soil health, and the sheer size of the rose collection within an enclosed space. They removed the rose bushes during the winter and now its a wild meadow..

A tiny visitor, just wanted to have a drink

Leucojum, also known as summer snowflake, is a carefree and adaptable spring-blooming bulb. Though its name suggests otherwise, summer snowflake blooms in mid to late spring, just after the daffodils. The pure white, bell-shaped flowers are decorated with lime green accents and dangle in clusters from arching stems.

The flowers and foliage of summer snowflake resemble snowdrops but the plant stands at least twice as tall. The bulbs grow in clumps and are reliably perennial, You can expect them to bloom again every spring for years to come.

it's a different world outside....the machine is macro.....next stop....something different....

There is a silvery sheen to the outside of the petals, which adds another dimension to the soft purple of the blooms. Inside, golden-orange stamens produce a vibrant shot of contrasting colour. Plant these in clusters at the front of a border, cram them into pots for the patio, or use them to line the edges of a path. They are superb.

When I drink, I typically use this familiar tool.

The macro world looks nebulous when my lens aperture is completely opened up at a minimum macro focal length for a minimum depth of field. My lens will go as wide as f/2.8 for portraits but when it comes to macros, f/4 is as open as it gets.

Down in the macro world when we make it bigger than reality, like 2x bigger, so much appears in a new light. Found some small "balls" on a birch stump that in all its insignificance was shyly struggling on in the autumn-winter cold. Thought a little visit with the macro lens might be fun. Once I got everything in place and checked the viewfinder, it was something completely different than a few small balls. An alien-like scenario with mighty eggs and in front of them a small newborn intensely red entity that had even smaller insects as tender caregivers. Another world and other lives but with the same universal tenderness we give our newborns. 😆

Well, not an alien but a little wolf´s milk if I understand it correctly. From the slime mold family and the little red one, yes it is growing. The little dots on the little red one are some type of insect, miniminimini insects that munch on the little red one's surface layer.

A little help with LED lighting and my little fantasy world came to life... 😁😊..

... and the fairy tale lived once again in the magical North Halland.. 😊😇

There were some pretty bees around these flowers in the garden while the sun was out the other day.

Almost missed seeing this little one. Macro shows it off beautifully. Even the tiniest of moths are beautiful if you take the time to look closely. I was just in the right place at the right time which is how most of my favourite photos come about. 😊

I've been collecting stamps since I was child. I love to handle them with tweezers, observing their wonderful details under the lens. Definitively a macro world.

strange leathery shrooms we found growing on fallen, rotting trees in a very ancient forest in North Wales near Dolgellau.

All elements from my stock.

Hoverflies, also called flower flies or syrphids, make up the insect family Syrphidae. As their common name suggests, they are often seen hovering or nectaring at flowers; like this lovely teasel and the bumblebee..

English bluebells, British bluebells, wood bells, fairy flowers and wild hyacinth, is an early flowering plant that naturally occurs in the UK. It appears in ancient woodlands and along woodland edges in April and May.

I saw this beautiful dragonfly resting on our wall so i had to grab my camera and macro lense and snap off a few shots. I cant believe how beautiful and complex they are. The macro world is indeed a wonderful yet alien world.

Now macro time, so macro world!!
