Im thinking this is a Lichen species but will be corrected happily. Its worth zooming in to see the incredible detail in these tiny organisms. The macro world is quite surreal

This was taken at Craigie Bushland Reserve using a stack of, I think, 60 images that were then assembled in Helicon.

As its English names suggest, the Gatekeeper (also known as the Hedge Brown) is often encountered where clumps of flowers grow in gateways and along hedgerows and field edges. It is often seen together with the Meadow Brown and Ringlet, from which it is easily distinguished when basking or nectaring with open wings.

Wonderful to see the little pollinators at work on the beautiful sunflower at Nymans gardens..

Slow-growing but rewarding, peonies are aristocratic plants with a brief but keenly anticipated flowering in late spring to early summer. Bowl-shaped, white, cream, pink, yellow or red flowers, often spicily scented, are either loosely crammed with petals or more open.

The sparkling, cobalt blue petals of the Dutch Iris ‘Sapphire Beauty’ are embellished by a contrasting golden stripe. The jewel-like flowers are borne above delicate foliage, allowing showy blooms to be displayed to full advantage. This precious gem is one of the best Dutch Iris varieties.

Wild teasel (Dipsacus fullonum) is a strikingly architectural biennial wildflower that develops into an impressively statuesque tall plant within just two growing seasons, before completing its life cycle..The name teasel comes from its one-time use in cloth production. A cultivated sub-species of teasel, Dipsacus sativus has bristle tips shaped like tiny hooks which were used to ‘tease’ out the nap of cloth.

Bar Mario.....Lemon!!!!!

Qualche lampione piccolo lume isolato freddo e perduto.

Lyreleaf Sage is a herbaceous perennial that is native to the United States. The leaves have irregular margins and are typically pinnately lobed or cut, looking somewhat like a lyre. Flowering is heaviest between April and June, though sparse flowering can happen throughout the year. Salvia lyrata grows in full sun or light to medium shade, with native stands found on roadsides, fields, and open woodlands.

A little white butterfly on lavender is likely a Small White butterfly (Pieris rapae), also known as a Cabbage White.

The macro world is amazing... a mini mini fly of some kind munching on a mini grass seed flower of some kind... cropped photo from an exposure with 2:1 magnification...😊 it's not big compared to the photographer who is in the total opposite of the macro world, the world of the clumsy giant.. 😆

Its common name because the flower spike bearing many thick purplish-pink bracts with iridescent bluish-purple tips looks somewhat like surreal matchsticks lined up the stem. After bloom, the flower spike remains a rosy pink color for a long time.

As the flash heads fired, everything around him changed. A rushing sound, pressure in the ear drums, the room moving... receding quickly. Falling through dimensions. In a moment it was over. A photographer now trapped in a macro world drifting in a universe of white. No obvious way out, no way home. What if? What if the flash heads fired again, would it take him back, or would he be transported to yet smaller worlds?

As a disembodied spirit I am dead and yet unborn..."

The scene is approximately 1 inch of a Paterson developing reel.

More rain...... This has been the rainiest May I can remember. Wondering what June will bring. At least it makes the macro world fun. :)

Paperflower is an evergreen, climbing shrub with thorny stems. Tiny white flowers usually appear in clusters surrounded by colorful papery bracts, hence the name paperflower. The flowers are about 0.4 cm (0.16 in) in diameter (the purple petal-like structures are not petals, but bracts).
