A spider and its prey, on a leaf. Not sure what type of spider this is - it was very tiny, about 3 mm in length. From Oslo, Norway.
Image taken using a Raynox DCR-250 macro converter.
The fly (a Sarcophaga carnaria) was over twice as big as the spider (an Araneus diadematus) but that didn't seem to bother the spider much.
I was pretty impressed by the way this harvestman spider split his legs to fall on the three petals of the clover leaf he was resting on. May 2013
Early morning dew, really small spider, macro lense with auto focus issues!
Strobist Info: SB-4 Vivitar bare, camera front partially blocked by rubber plant leaves
I'm upping this because it disturbs me that a spider's leg looks completely empty. I posit that they don't need muscles because they are animated by the dark lord Sauron.
Common jumping spider's leg. Shot using reverse-ring macro techinque.

This fella has been guarding my stairway the past several days. I need to be careful that I don't accidentally step on him. He did get a bit excited when I shined a bright light on him to take his photo, but has since calmed down.
This is the best spider photo I've taken yet, but Thomas Shahan has no competition from me. ;-) His spider macros are absolutely splendid!
