This is the pistel of a Discus Hibiscus. The green seen through the slits is a leaf. I shot this with my $150 "pocket camera" that I have with me at all times. No special lighting or lenses, just macro mode. I continue to be amazed by this little Olympus FE230 to the point that I rarely use my digital SLR.

Blue Heron bridge in West Palm Beach hosts a variety of different marine species. Macro lovers will delight in the diversity of life around the bridge.
