The head of a very large stick insect seen in the garden. Members of this order of insects (Phasmatodea) are the largest insects in the world.

If you now what it is let me know..

This is the only shot I managed to get of this damselfly. But I can't complain about how it came out!

So, after Maria's suggestion that my gorse photobomber might be a thrip, what do we think now?

Pea thrip is a possibility, if this has yellow tarsi, which of course is difficult to see on the yellow background.

Got a ticket? This one was riding for free on me. Nasty creature. It is like 1mm big. Used my 12-35 with macro lens attached.

I found yet another shot from way back while looking through photos. I was playing around with my macro setup while on a road trip in Missouri and managed to get a shot of this grasshopper before it jumped off.

I have not seen this insect before; it looks like a giant mosquito, but lacks the proboscis which a mosquito uses to suck blood. Seen in this macro image, the head is elongated and rather bizarre in shape.

A photo from my archives points to a time when photography was more about macro shots.

I was shy about going out to photograph people or landscape, so macro seems natural to me. And just about 99% of all macro shots are from my own little garden. In a way, it's good - it's given me so much joy.

This one's a personal fave ... I know the DOF is just a tad short with one wing being OOF, but I like how the orange background melts away.

Let me know what you guys think ...

Taken through my £7.39 microscope.

não sei o nome desse pequeno inseto, rs. Sei que encontrei vários desses outro dia, e eu que nem adoro fotografar insetos né (como pode ver na galeria) ;)

I dont know the name of this little bug, lol. I know I found several of these the other day, and I love photographing insects that not right (as you can see in the gallery) ;)

Just love these guys, not spiders as such but Opiliones. Their little eyes on top of their bodies look quite human with the right light.
