First macro experiences

Canon 40D

f/1.8

1/10 sec.

ISO 100

EF 50mm 1.8

Cheap Extension tubes

A little macro experience that turned out pretty good... I think. Just used some reading lamps and the inside of a cereal box for a background.

My camera battled between scenery and macro. My first days in the desert were mostly a macro experience where I garnered huge portions of visual excitement and inspiration for untold future art projects.

These rocks form a "pavement" that is very hard to disturb. Every rainfall and every puff of wind brings a few grains of silt into contact with the rocks and grain by grain the rocks are "cemented" in place over time. These rocks are covered with a desert varnish described above.
