Die Männchen der Vielfleckkreuzspinne sind mit ca. 8 mm Körperlänge deutlich kleiner und leichter als die Weibchen.

Die Weibchen können dagegen bis zu 2,5 cm Körperlänge erreichen.

A second attempt at this arrangement, this time with a different background.

I collect little rocks like these whenever I'm travelling in regional and remote parts of Australia. This collection includes copper from Arkaroola, malachite from northern Tasmania, a haematite pebble from the Oodnadatta Track, and possibly lead, nickel or zinc from Broken Hill. Not sure what's in the orange rock with the brown band.

The plant is mainly found in the dunes.

The up to 25 cm tall plant has light blue/purple flowers. The lower petals are lighter coloured than the top two . The lip has a yellow spot .

Violet grows in nutrient-poor dune land , in places where the rabbit droppings have fertilized the ground a little.

The dune pansy is one of the host plants of the dune fritillary and the small fritillary
