My contribution to the Macro Mondays challenge, "Junk", on 23 September 2019. It's a very old tin brooch containing a posy of wildflowers. It was given to my mother, or possibly my grandmother, when she was a child. Definitely junk, albeit of the sentimental kind.

I took this shot with the Macro Mondays' challenge, "chain", (9 December 2019) in mind. Then I realised it wasn't technically a chain. However, I like the shot so I'm posting it anyway, albeit not to Macro Mondays! :)
The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is one of the most iconic species of butterflies although it is sometimes confused with it’s lookalike butterfly, the Viceroy. The upper side of the male is bright orange with wide black borders and black veins. The upper side of the female is more of an orange-brown with wider black borders than the male. This is a male monarch butterfly since it has a black spot on it's hind wing.
