In Ithe woodland there's a little spider who's created his web of deceit. Now he waits patiently for his friend(s) to come knocking.

Seen this little fella while at Clifton Grove Local Nature Reserve, Nottinghamshire.

[it's a still from a video file]

It is one of the commonest garden butterflies, found throughout lowland England and Wales with a wingspan of 63mm. It's unmistakable, with quite spectacular eyes on the upperside of the hindwings that give this butterfly its name. These eyes must appear very threatening to predators, such as mice, that confront this butterfly head-on, where the body forming a "beak".

Burdock (Arctium Minus). Here towards the end of its season.

The Burdock is a very common wild food plant found across the UK and again like lots of edible Wild Plants is considered a weed. The Burdock is found all over the UK and likes grassland, woodland, hedgerows and wastelands that are relatively untouched by human hand so that it can complete its two year lifecycle. The Burdock can get quite large during is two years and sometimes hits nearly 2 metres in height.

Another from my garden. Perhaps my favourite flower. A burst of sunshine yellow to add to the colourful fauna at this time of year!

The perennial Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii ‘Goldsturm’. You may know it with another name, Coneflowers, Asteraceae, Black Eyed Susans, Rudbeckia Fulgida, Goldsturm.

the tiny spikes and delicate pleasing colour drew me to get a shot of this alpine plant, or perhaps a wild weed growing in clusters on rocks n stones.

Flowers in the city :)

A dilapidated Daisy (Bellis perennis) barely hanging on to life. It/they were on a part of the park where people meander by. Its staggered petals give it character and yet strength to survive. Most images of flora are pristine. Welcome to the 'land of hard knocks', it may be bruised but not beaten.

Plenty of things going on at Ogston Reservoir, but sometimes capturing reeds n weeds blowing in the summer breeze is equally satisfying.

It's a 200-acre rural reservoir & Site of Special Scientific Interest known for its abundant birdlife.

Seen this little fella amongst the undergrowth in the woodland. He was hastily jumping around, then finally came to rest for a short time about a foot up a tree trying to hide in the moss.
