I think Patience is one of the key elements in photography. You will get your desired shot sooner or later. Wildlife photographers are master in this.
For these shots had to try for three days. But I think it worth it. These ants were thirsty. And these are plain water. But You can use sugar water.
Taken from my roof. So I haven't had to travel anywhere for this.
Had a lot of time to observe. And I could focus only on the shot. This is the beauty of macro photography. You don't need to go far. Your subjects are around you may be they are on the roof of your house or at the backyard or maybe inside your head. Yes you could make your own interesting subjects and photograph them in your bedroom, kitchen or bathroom and they could be world class. Many world class macro photographs are taken this way. For example don komarechka takes most of his extraordinary droplet photos from his kitchen. So we shouldn't let immobility our limitation. We could always find something everywhere

Macro capture of Turkeytail mushroom and moss on Garry oak tree branch in late February.
Garry oak ecosystems range from shady woodlands to open meadows with scattered trees which support many life forms including moss, lichens and fungi. Under the shelter of oak canopies or in meadows, spring wildflowers, grasses, mosses, and a variety of shrubs flourish.
Please, be warned that this end of week, there'll be particular captures !! They call them « humorous » or « second degree humour » or « laughing stock » or nasty or very bad taste... It's very different …. I don't know if you'll like them ...But I want to show you surprising exhibitions, not always become by me, but many persons have liked them and many papers have published about them....
To day, you'll have a crude bus, to morrow a special tasty car, the day after....sausages ! And we'll finish with toilet that had interested and intrigued many Asiatics !! I will spare you all sorts of macro captures of damaged teeth !!!!
Translation : Do not like this bunch of idiots, buy a car …
This capture is a tribute to Hara Kiri which will become Charlie hebdo... A lot of people to this exhibition ...
Hara-Kiri was a monthly French satirical magazine, first published in 1960. It was created by Georges Bernier, called Professeur Choron, Cavanna and Fred Aristidès. A weekly counterpart, Hara-Kiri Hebdo, was first published in 1969.
Contributors included Melvin Van Peebles, Reiser, Roland Topor, Moebius, Wolinski, Gébé (fr), Cabu, Delfeil de Ton (fr), Fournier,Jean-Pierre Bouyxou and Willem. In 1966 it published Les Aventures de Jodelle, drawn by Guy Peellaert
Hara-Kiri editions, subtitled "Journal bête et méchant" ("Stupid and vicious magazine"), were constantly aiming at established powers, be they political parties or institutions like the Church or the State. In 1961 and 1966 the monthly magazine was temporarily banned by the French goverment.
In November 1970, following the death of Charles de Gaulle at his home in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, the weekly Hara-Kiri Hebdo bore the headline « Bal tragique à Colombey : 1 mort » (Eng: "Tragic ball in Colombey: 1 death").
The choice of the title refers to a tragedy of the same month: a fire at a discothèque where 146 people were killed. The chosen title was somehow downplaying the gravity of de Gaulle’s demise, by suggesting a comparison with a tragedy which had just earlier resulted in the loss of many more people. The government felt this editorial choice was an offence of lèse-majesté against the deceased President. As a result, the magazine was immediately and permanently banned from sale to minors and publicity by the minister of the interior Raymond Marcellin.
Hara Kiri will become Charlie Hebdo....
Charlie Hebdo was started immediately afterwards. Charlie in the title refers to General de Gaulle (said Georges Wolinski); but it was also the name of another magazine from Éditions du Square Charlie Mensuel, named after the character Charlie Brown from Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts.
Most of the contributors will been killed on January 7, 2015, in the building of Charlie Hebdo.
IIf you're not too busy, give me your opinion....
A dreamy macro capture of a Teasel (Dipsacus fullonum Sativus Group; syn. D. sativus) seedhead against the backdrop of the silvery bark of an aspen in autumn. I really like their form and have a little fascination for them.
Teasel was used in wool “fleecing” (raising the nap on woolen cloth) and was used in textile processing, providing a natural comb for cleaning, aligning and raising the nap on fabrics. A valued horticulture plant which led to its introduction in North America as early as the 1700s.
Another from my garden. The beautiful Japanese Green Maple Tree. Leaves are just emerging.
Originally purchased back in 2003 as a Japanese Purple Maple Tree. As the season develops its primary colour is green. A horticulturist later explained that it was grafted and in time the original colour takes precedence.
This Acer is our memory tree in honour of my late father who died Easter 2003. He was a keen gardener and his garden never had anything out of place :)
Love and miss you Dad xx
You were and are TREE-mendous.
Beautiful tree blossom in the gardens of Hodsock Priory, North Nottinghamshire.

This end of week, there were particular captures in my gallery !! They call them « humorous » or « second degree humour » or « laughing stock » or nasty or very bad taste... It was very different …. I don't know if you have liked them ...But I wanted to show you surprising exhibitions, not always become by me, but many persons have liked them and many papers have published about them....

Well...I dared to capture in this place ! With a WC whose cleanliness is deliberately more than doubtful, and a capture with sausages !! It's fecal and culinary art !
Thomas Mailaender is Paris-based multimedia artist who started out doing documentation work. His past creations were focused on toying with the concept of typology and depicting "incidentally grotesque moments." This selection of images features weird food-related scenes such as a tool box filled with sausage and a toilet overflowing with French fries. His comical food-related photos, sculptures, and installation are all included under the name L’Union Fait la Farce (The Union is a Farce) which is a play on words with the motto L’Union Fait la Force(Unity is Strength.)
« Put Put Installation »(Stephan Friedly & Ulrik Martin Larsen) for this exhibition explains to us that there're no rule in design ...
It shows that household objects can be changed and become modified in a new way...in a new place...
Do you think you're going to modify your home decoration ? I question....
Eupholus is a genus of beetle in the family Curculionidae. The genus includes some of the most colourful of the weevils. The colour may serve as a warning to predators that they are distasteful. Most species feed upon yam leaves, some of which are toxic to other animals. The species occur in New Guinea and adjacent islands. This genus was described by French entomologist Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Dechauffour de Boisduval in 1835.

We all know this as the common Dandelion weed (Taraxacum Erythrospermum) that is seen almost everywhere. When you take a closer look, the detail and lightness is admirable.
Being self-pollinating plants, the composite flower often turns into the signature, fluffy white seed head within a few days. These seeds fly along with prevailing winds using their umbrella-like hairs.

English Daisy (Bellis Perennis). To be honest I never knew it was a daisy until I used Google Lens to check it out. There's me thinking there is only one type of Daisy, when of course, that's the collective term. The green fingers out there will have a wry smile on their faces.
(zoom in for more detail)
Chilean Lantern Tree (Crinodendron Hookerianum)
Have this tree growing in relative shade. Must be getting on for 10 years old or more. Once in a while it gets pruned to promote new growth. If left alone it would be quite tall and wide, I have it around 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide.
C. hookerianum is a dense, hardy medium-sized evergreen shrub to 6m, with rigid, narrow, dark green leaves and fleshy, lantern-shaped, crimson flowers 2.5cm in length from late spring to late summer.

Recently visited Oldmoor Wood, Nottinghamshire. Oldmoor Wood is a woodland in Nottinghamshire, near the village of Strelley. It covers a total area of 15.11 hectares. It is owned and managed by The Woodland Trust.
I went primarily for the beautiful Bluebells. There is a mix of Native and Spanish Bluebells.
Native Bluebells are protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.
How to tell the difference.
English Bluebells: Flowers on one side of the stem.
Spanish Bluebells: Flowers all around the stem.
