This year the scarce rainfall has meant that there have not been as many as in previous years. But we still managed to catch a few.

A roly-poly/pillbug in my garden - common little creatures that are often beloved by kids, these isopods are terrestrial crustaceans and, as I learned today, their ability to roll into a ball - a globe - is called conglobation. So if you touch one, it will conglobate. You will witness it conglobating. You're welcome.

En ocasiones la naturaleza nos regala imágenes dignas del @circdusoliel , desconozco qué estaba haciendo este escarabajo, pero os prometo que se pasó así un buen rato.

Sometimes nature gives us images worthy of @circdusoliel , I don't know what this beetle was doing, but I promise you that he spent a good time like this.

Strange? May be .. but true? YES!

Found this small spider (around 6-7 mm if I remember correctly) with reflective silver and green plates on its abdomen in the cloud forest near Mindo, Ecuador.

A trip local nature reserve recently and the Oxeye Daisies are looking splendid. The Common Blues there are fairly abundant but the Daisies make for a lovely background.

At this time of year they should not be seen, however, the warm autumn we are having is causing many insects to get confused and think it is the end of the summer.

Bye bye April...!

Oxyopes salticus is a species of Lynx spider commonly known as striped lynx spider.

🔥️Did you know that jumping spiders can see in almost 360 degrees thanks to their eight eyes? 😲👀

Meet this little cutie (species anyone?) captured using focus stacking technique, with a self-made diffuser, and a magnification scale of approximately 4:1

Had a go at some abstract ferrofluid macrophotography.

One of the things I like about macro photography is that it allows me to show viewers tiny scenes in Nature that might otherwise go overlooked. In this case I loved how the bee's wings reflected the gorgeous orange color of the poppy, and it helped to amplify the strong connection between the bee and the flower.
