Cornerstone was laid in August of 1889 and the Church was dedicated November 11, 1903. The twin towers are 200 ft high and are the third tallest building in Macon.
White Italian Carrara marble adorns the altar, 60 stained glass windows teach the story of Christ and the Church has a 1,000 pipe organ.
Architect Cornelius S.J. Otten
Romanesque Neo-Gothic style.

I love taking photos of trains. But this Company Norfork Southern acts like a bunch of babies if they see you with a Camera! I have been on Public Land or roadways and the NS police will stop by and ask what I'm doing? I love it when I say I'm taking photo's like Duh???? And they will say I can't do that I tell them I'm on public land watch me! So the nut will take down my Lic Plate # or take a photo of me. Which in turn I will take photos of him and his lic plate #. When has PHOTOGRAPHY become a crime? Was it after 9/11? Look people if the bad guys want to see your land all they have to do is look on Google, Yahoo, Bing or Mapquest and they have maps that see everything???????????????????????????????? IDIOTS!

Duane Allman on left & Berry Oakley on right. They died in the early 70's. Both in motorcycle accidents, just a year apart.
Unfortunately they are building a wall around this plot. Not only was access limited, but as you can see, the gravestones themselves are both covered in plastic. Thus preventing me from a better perspective or more detailed pictures of their headstone inscriptions.
