Got a new monitor today, BenQ FP241W, with M-PVA panel. It should be better (not ideal but better) in photo enhancement than normal consumer models.

This is after I installed my new monitor. Yes, i know my desk is ugly, and I need to replace it, and also finish cleaning up around it, but it's better than before... ;-)

Learn about how to upgrade your Mac Mini at www.macusersguide.com/photo-gallery/mac-mini/. Resetting your Mac Pro Logic Board can resolve many of your Mac Mini’s system problems relating to power interruptions or management. Simply use a non-conducting rod, either made up of nylon or wood.

This is my desk. Ok.... I cleaned up for the photo... Its a Mac Mini Core Solo with SD and 1GB RAM, a eyeTV 310, a Philips Senseo, a HP Deskjet 840C, a pair of cheap but nice speakers with a subwoofer and a No-Name 17'' TFT.

Updated and better version of my previous "Desk" photo - once again taken using external flash :-)

Keyboard and Mouse are plugged into my PC, and I use Synergy to control the Mac.

Finally got around to getting an iFixit Mac Mini dual drive kit and installing the OEM Toshiba 5400rpm 500gb spinner into slot 2 (slot 1 occupied by an Intel 320 160gb SSD).

Install is fairly straightforward and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the tools iFixit provided are (kit was $29.95). The removal of logic board + PSU, installation of HD/SSD and reassembly took ~30 minutes courtesy of the instructions provided by iFixit. This can probably be done much faster, but I was distracted and taking my time.

Happy to be able to move all of my data off of the SSD and onto the spinner.

Here's our home TV setup. Makes for smooth watching of Netflix!

Note: Verizon wireless router hidden behind the TV stand, with Time Capsule and Mac Mini hard-wired (for less latency).

20" iMac (2GHz Intel Core Duo), iPhone 3G, and slightly hidden a G4 Mac mini (running OS X Server)

Man oh man. I just got the widescreen 24" Dell 2405FPW LCD monitor -- the same display internally as the 23" Apple Cinema Display.

I can't believe it, but my Mac mini can drive the thing at its full native resolution via DVI, at 1920x1200! Even the built-in flash card reader and USB 2.0 hubs work fine.

I think we've officially made it to Ludicrous Size.

On of the main reasons I decided to purchase this mac mini was that I can use it as a media center. So this is my current set up. I'm moving out at the end of this month, so I'll update the photo with a new one with hopefully a bigger and better hdtv. See notes for details.

What else could a girl ask for in terms of technology? :)

Mac mini買いました。

I bought my mother a new computer: a Mac mini. It's a used Late 2009 model in a great condition, and it does a great job in replacing her previous Mac, a Power Mac G4.

The mini has a 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, and runs Mac OS X 10.7 Lion like a charm.

This is the Mac mini I purchased with plenty upgrades in memory and storage. I ordered on April 27, 2015 at 9:15 AM. I paid $1,499 for item, $133.04 in NYC taxes, $99.00 for the extended warranty. It was delivered at the Apple Store, Upper West Side, 1981 Broadway, New York, NY 10013. Part Number: Z0R8 and Serial Number: C07PK196G1J2. It was stored in my blue and black Tata Consultancy Services backpack.

It was lost it on Sunday, April 3, 2016 when I had a severe panic attack in Chicago, Illinois. Some of this story is in my blog. The station were the items were lost was State/Lake on the Red Line. This Mac mini was encrypted because I had plenty XXX photos, my company information, all the data from my storage drives, which translates to

20,000 documents, presentations, databases, spreadsheets, publications, quickbooks files, PSTs (outlook personal information manager), financial management files since 1994. My college course work from undergrad, graduate, and doctoral programs. My professional work for the items I produced for companies. My own company financial history and file from the details I developed in the event I happen to get capital. I took the time to fill in the metadata per document to make my computer system more efficient in searching for documents.

30,000 music songs ripped from CDs, DVDs, public library Freegal Music, and purchased from iTunes, Napster, etc. I even took the time to placed album covers on each song, and fill in the Metadata (small details) to make my computer system more efficient in looking for music.

10,000 photos from all the photo albums and trips I took across the world, collected from theme parks, family and friends events, adult nudes, unique selfies, etc. I filled in the metadata (small details) to make my computer system more efficient in looking for photos and I did geotagging, which is setting the place where the photo was taken.

20-30 application programs. Microsoft Office, Parallels for Mac, QuickBooks,

Also, I had Parallels for Mac, which had my whole enterprise server system setup with SharePoint (on premise), Oracle, Windows Server, SQL Server Enterprise, Visual Studio, etc.

When I lost this item along with the other storage drives, it was my personal heirloom and so everyone that was in it went with it. This made my mind and heart grow colder than HELL to the point that "I Don't Care About Anything...Nothing is Important any longer." is larger than "Actual Care". This is why I will never return back to my biological family, step families, extended family, extended friends, acquaintances, associates, etc., until April 3, 2056 if life means for it to be corrected to come back.

A 12'' PowerBook along with a 12'' iBook and the next generation of Intel macs, a mac mini Core Duo and 2 black MacBooks 2.0GHz. A 20'' iMac G5, couldn't attend to the ceremony.

When boredom strikes...

Things are a bit different under here. We’ve got two large heat sinks (one for socketed processor, one presumably for video circuitry). There’s a little perch at the back for the new “penthouse” on port row, belonging to the audio-in and -out ports. Just below the interconnect slot is the built-in AirPort Extreme card (you can see the antenna snake off to the right). At the front left you can make out the two RAM slots, one on top of the other. SODIMMs slide right into here, laying on their side. It’s a tight squeeze, but SODIMMS like to snuggle, so it’s okay.

My mac is actually getting a bit old now, being a G4 1.25GHz. (Maybe I'll replace it sometime this spring.) I have now bought a Macbook! Pictures might show up later.

Love the Mac Mini concept.
