3 machines /w Dell U2412M 24" Monitor

The top comes off easily after loosening a few screws.

CPU: QuadCore i7 2.3GHz

RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz,

HDD: 1TB HDD

OS: Mac OSX 10.8.5

I was able to get a pretty cheap 17" Samsung SyncMaster 740N for just £40 so I decided to hook it up to my Mac Mini for when my Macbook is at the shop for repairs or for when my mother comes over next week.

I still need to level out a few of the plastic bits inside the IIc case, but when I do, the optical drive should peek out of the floppy slot pretty nicely.

My mac mini and 19" tft-monitor.

From left to right: MacMini (first PPC), MacBook 13.3", MacBook Pro Unibody 15.4", old workstation PC w/ Vista with 30" Dell display, Dell laptop running WinXP, 12.2" X60s Thinkpad w/ Vista.

free at last, thanks to this Logitech cordless Mac keyboard. doesn't quite reach all the way to bed, though. :-)

Very nice setup of my MacMini G4. Some short details:

Hardware

- Mac Mini G4 1.4GHz

- Keyspan FrontRow Remote

- Belkin USB/FW Hub

- HP All-in-one Printer

Software

- (Hacked) FrontRow

- Stattoo (nice stats on desktop when FrontRow is turned off)

- Menushade (makes the menu hide)

Final touches to these two machines.

The Mac Mini (2011 model, Core i5, Intel 320 160gb SSD + Toshiba 5400rpm 500gb spinner) gets a Kingston Hyper-X DDR3 1600 16gb RAM kit and the 8gb Crucial DDR3 kit that it had been previously upgraded to goes into my Core i3 Intel NUC.

Check out the difference in size between the NUC and the Mini!

There's plenty of room inside for the Mini and its power brick, along with the rewired keyboard adapter - tucked away under the keyboard.

down to the logic board and power supply.

The keyboard lifts out to reveal the main logic board and speaker.

I've been working on getting my entire CD collection imported into itunes for some time now. It's a looong tedious project, as I'm really only picking out the songs I like from each album. And I have over 400 CDs in my collection.

I think it will be nice though once I'm done, to have all the songs available at the click of my mouse. I'm a 'random' kind of guy anyways.. so having songs shuffling random is how I listen to my music most of the times anyways.

I don't really buy many CDs now, as everything can now be downloaded, so most of my CDs are from back in tha day. lol.

I suggest looking at this larger to see some of the titles here. This is only a small portion of what I still need to import.

The only trick here is that I've stopped using my laptop at shoots, and rely solely on the 64gb iPad 2 for downloading and reviewing. When I get home, I dump all of the photos to my 11" Macbook Air, catalog and rate them in Adobe Lightroom, then store them on one of two remote Drobo volumes, via a wirelessly shared Mac Mini. The mini is also running Backblaze, which backs up the contents of the Drobo.

This workflow will be augmented (hopefully for the better) as soon as PhotoSmith comes out.

Steve’s passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place.

One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future.

I’m incredibly proud of the work we are doing, delivering products that our customers love and dreaming up new ones that will delight them down the road. It’s a wonderful tribute to Steve’s memory and everything he stood for. - Tim

Headers and wiring complete. Red wires are the "columns" in the matrix. Black are "rows".

Aside from the ports on the back and the floppy slot, the IIc still looks stock. I'm debating whether to add a slot in the top to add an iPad dock to it as well. I like it to be totally stealth until a DVD pops out the floppy slot, but I also like the idea of using the IIc keyboard to type on my iPad.

The original BASIC in the Apple ROM is © Microsoft.

Of the original components, this is the only part I'm keeping in the final piece.

the power brick looks like it almost belongs there, doesn't it?

yes, it works. arduino code coming soon.

Starting with a stock, non-working Apple IIc. Missing power supply cable and handle, I was able to get this pretty cheaply on ebay.

The new Mac Mini box (back)

Went to the Apple store (Manchester Arndale) and picked up the new Mac Mini. I was a saddo and got it straight off the delivery. Wonner!
