Mac Mini 3,1 Intel Core 2 Duo 2ghz DIY upgraded with a Seagate 750 GB 7200 rpm hard drive and 8gb of OWC memory.
While the house was being worked on last year I was stuffed into the basement, nothing collects clutter like a computer desk.

Up and running here. I have a great majority of my iTunes library streaming through my XBox360 while I play games. The iPhoto library looks gorgeous on the high def tv. Hello? Apple? Where is my macmini HTPC??
Putty knife between the outer and inner housing. Lift the inner housing carefully out until you hear a pop. Continue by moving the putty knife around the edges. Pop, pop, pop.
I have an inner geek. OK, it's a pretty external geek, but there are still aspects of it that I hide the full extent of. Here then is something that makes the geek in my feel very happy and calm: The really really good design of something tiny and practically invisible to the majority of people.
The devil is in the detail. If a job's worth doing it's worth doing well. All that comes into this, but more than anything, it's the idea that other people (the designers and the company owners who employ such people to achieve such things) care for and take pride in even the smallest part of what they do. Love it. Subtle proof of passion.
Yea i know... these pictures are from over a month ago. we had a Leopard install party on halloween night. Kristen and ty installed it on their MacBooks and me on my MacMini.
The Mac-O-Lantern was made the week before halloween, but held up long enough for our party.
Sharpened my chopsticks, set the mini on the fleece: I'm set for opening the mac mini in the least invasive manner
