HDR, machine factory from 1919 in Vlissingen harbour, not in use anymore, it's become a monument now. The crane was recently rebuilt.
I used the RMC Tokina 28/2.8 M42 for this shot.
This business may have been here long before zoning laws declared this a residential area. Such enterprises are commonly "grandfathered" - allowed to stay but create no precedent for similar ones to start up nearby.
It may have a long history of skilled wood workers, whose grandchildren perhaps are acquiring MBAs and going into finance.
Here is my latest marble machine. It is called Mr. Marbles because the bowtie reminds me of Mr. Peanut. This machine is made from Maple, Cherry, and Zebrawood for the bowtie, however each one I make will have a different species of wood for the bowtie to give them each a bit of uniqueness. Every part has been made by hand, no cnc milling or computerized design was used.

I haven't had much time for Flickr these days, but I log in occasionally to see what everyone is up to.
I've been volunteering at the History Colorado Museum and really enjoy being behind the scenes. The museum has been closed for 2 years while the new building was being built. Well, we are all moved in and with great pride we are opening our doors to the public on April 28th.
This time machine is one of the interactive exhibits. There is a map of Colorado on the atrium floor. You push it over a section on the map, pick a year, and watch a video.
The next time you are in Denver, stop in and visit. The museum is downtown at the corner of Broadway and 12th.
Thermodynamic Laws Are Unjust
I’ve been tinkering for months on this Perpetual Motion Machine. It is very large, taking up my yard, part of my grouchy neighbors yard and rolls out a bit onto the public sidewalk.
I’m estimating about 2 tons of gears, actuators, harmonic pulsars, stabilizer shafts and counter balancing spindles.
All meshing smoothly and slowly rotating while emitting a beautiful low pitch machine whine sound that’s rather soothing.
