Part of the duck pond in the Kurpark Bad Nauheim is not frozen despite the low temperatures. The small fountain and the ducks swimming around prevent the pond from freezing over any further. But the ducks also enjoy a nap in the still very weak February sun on the snow-covered bank. The processing of this scanned slide from 1963 presented me with some problems. The emulsion of the old photo had deteriorated, leaving a heavy bluing. With LrC I finally managed to make the snow look whiter and give the ducks a little more color.

Last week I came back from a fishing trip in Ireland. We had good days with beer, wine and we tried some Irish whiskey. I bought myself a few small bottles (5 cl) Irish whiskey as a souvenir to remember these great days.
Currently in Macau for my Wanderlust Competition win. The sun sets over the sea with the skyline and casinos beyond.

While cooking breakfast I noticed the jagged membrane of my egg. I also shot a portion of an amethyst geode but felt that this was perfectly jagged.
After several months of trials and searching for materials, I have my own macro diffuser, adapted to the set, which in my opinion gives excellent results:
📷 Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II
⚪️ M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8
⚪️ Raynox DCR-250
⚡️ Godox V350O
🔦 Iluminator - rechargeable LED lamp
Now we are waiting for spring... We will see what photos will be produced using these materials, I have high hopes for it, but life will test them.
I carried out a very thorough analysis of the materials, shape, size and structure of the reflector (reflector), shape, size and thickness of the diffusion surface (diffuser) - to obtain the most optimal light distribution on the photographed objects. The purpose of using the diffuser is to maximize the quality of light, obtain a very soft light distribution on objects combined with minimizing the use of lamp power (no burn-outs, reflections on shiny surfaces), the possibility of using high aperture values f (f/5.6 ... f/13) at relatively low lamp power, optimizing the distribution of shadows under photographed objects ("destroying" a strong shadow by shaping the angles of light from the flash), minimizing the ISO value to the native level (maximizing tonal dynamics) - in my opinion, the proper distribution of shadow is an extremely important element of the composition.
The diffuser also includes a rechargeable LED lamp to facilitate focusing (pre-illumination of the photographed object). .
Macro Mondays: Water
Soapy and non-soapy water in a sauce pot.
I kept moving this pot out of my way while photographing other "water" ideas in and near the kitchen sink, until it finally occurred to me that it was itself an interesting subject! Total area photographed is about 2.5 inches.
