The Sunflower plant was brought to Europe from the Americas in the 16th century and it was processed into sunflower oil and became widespread as a cooking oil and over a long period of time the production of this oil was transferred to Eastern Europe and these countries produced about half of the worlds seeds production. The plant is very erect and has many hairs on its stem and can reach up to 10 feet if the conditions it is growing in are ideal, such as being in full sun and getting plenty of water. I have read that these flower will face east in the morning and follow the sun as the earth moves during the day, this behaviour is called “heliotropism,” the Sunflower head is in itself a flower but each large flower has thousand to tiny, tiny flowers within it and they can contain as many a 1000 to 2000 seeds, the seeds have been milled to create flour also the seeds can be roasted and eaten and it is still used in this way today.
Die Äste der am Wegrand stehenden Bäume ragen weit über den Weg und bilden ein natürliches Dach. Bei Sonnenschein bietet dieses Dach den Wanderern Schutz vor der Wärme, bei schlechtem Wetter Schutz vor Regen. Neben diesen angenehmen Eigenschaften sind die Bäume und Dach aus Ästen auch noch schön anzuschauen.

The branches of the trees on the side of the path extend far over the path and form a natural roof. This roof offers hikers protection from the heat when the sun is shining and protection from the rain when the weather is bad. In addition to these pleasant properties, the trees and roof made of branches are also beautiful to look at.

Kann man sich einen schöneren Platz zum Wohnen vorstellen? Natürlich kann man das, aber dieses wunderschöne Fachwerkhaus im Rheinisch-Bergischen Kreis in der Nähe von Leichlingen strahlt so viel Ruhe und Charme aus, dass ich mir sofort vorstellen könnte hier zu wohnen und die Natur vor der Haustür zu genießen.

Can you imagine a nicer place to live? Of course you can, but this beautiful half-timbered house in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis near Leichlingen exudes so much peace and charm that I could immediately imagine living here and enjoying nature on my doorstep.

Last week I came back from a fishing trip in Ireland. We had good days with beer, wine and we tried some Irish whiskey. I bought myself a few small bottles (5 cl) Irish whiskey as a souvenir to remember these great days.
Dieses Gebäude mit den Backsteineinfassungen passt auf den ersten Blick nicht in die moderne Architektur des Neuen Medienhafens in Düsseldorf. Im oberen Teil des Fotos ist allerdings eine moderne Glasfassade zu sehen. Auch hier wurde alte Bausubstanz mit moderner Architektur geschickt kombiniert. Das schöne Gebäude wird aktuell von einer Modefirma für die Präsentation der aktuellen Kollektionen genutzt. Diese Fassade konnte ich nur mit Hilfe meiner Weitwinkel Brennweite so ablichten. Verzerrungen musste ich bei der anschließenden Entwicklung mit LrC ausgleichen.

At first glance, this building with the brick surrounds does not fit into the modern architecture of the New Media Harbor in Düsseldorf. In the upper part of the photo, however, a modern glass facade can be seen. Here, too, old building fabric was cleverly combined with modern architecture. The beautiful building is currently used by a fashion company for the presentation of the current collections. I was only able to photograph this facade with the help of my wide-angle focal length. I had to compensate for distortions with LrC during the subsequent development.

While cooking breakfast I noticed the jagged membrane of my egg. I also shot a portion of an amethyst geode but felt that this was perfectly jagged.

Esto es una primera prueba para ver si funciona y ni mucho menos es 1:1. Creo que incluso es de mejor calidad que el que tenia vivitar. Por 25 lereles :-)

Soapy and non-soapy water in a sauce pot.
I kept moving this pot out of my way while photographing other "water" ideas in and near the kitchen sink, until it finally occurred to me that it was itself an interesting subject! Total area photographed is about 2.5 inches.

Now we are waiting for spring... We will see what photos will be produced using these materials, I have high hopes for it, but life will test them.
I carried out a very thorough analysis of the materials, shape, size and structure of the reflector (reflector), shape, size and thickness of the diffusion surface (diffuser) - to obtain the most optimal light distribution on the photographed objects. The purpose of using the diffuser is to maximize the quality of light, obtain a very soft light distribution on objects combined with minimizing the use of lamp power (no burn-outs, reflections on shiny surfaces), the possibility of using high aperture values f (f/5.6 ... f/13) at relatively low lamp power, optimizing the distribution of shadows under photographed objects ("destroying" a strong shadow by shaping the angles of light from the flash), minimizing the ISO value to the native level (maximizing tonal dynamics) - in my opinion, the proper distribution of shadow is an extremely important element of the composition.
The diffuser also includes a rechargeable LED lamp to facilitate focusing (pre-illumination of the photographed object). .

Am äußersten Ostende der Hasper Talsperre bildet der Haper Bach einen Teich bevor er endgültig in die Talsperre mündet. Hier findet man immer wieder Wasservögel, die auf der kleinen Insel auch nisten. Heute war nur ein Entenpärchen zu entdecken - vor der Insel schwimmt aber noch ein Blesshuhn, das allerdings nur dann sichtbar wird, wenn das Foto deutlich vergrößert wird.

At the extreme eastern end of the Hasper Dam, the Haper Bach forms a pond before finally flowing into the dam. Here you can often find water birds that nest on the small island. Today only a pair of ducks could be discovered - but there is still a coot swimming in front of the island, which is only visible if the photo is significantly enlarged.

Crec que és vista clàssica de Sant-Maloù, almenys jo ja havia vist alguna foto semblant, així que el dia que vaig anar volia aprofitar per anar a veure el lloc, la sort que el dia estava molt tapat i amb un ambient prou maco per fer una foto tot i ser primera hora de la tarda. Així que vaig atansar-me, vaig buscar la posició que les línies em semblessin més interessants i equilibrades i vaig esperar a no tenir gent, molt a prop, i aquí el resultat. Una foto del poble, que esta al centre, amb una força molt potent de les línies principals.

Forests and Lake Biwa
In Shiga Prefecture, forests cover 200,000 hectares, i.e. roughly half the total area of the prefecture, accounting for about 60% of the land area. Most rainwater falling in forests surrounding Lake Biwa flows into the lake, which nurtures rich ecosystems and thereby sustains our lives.
In addition to playing these roles as a water source, forests offer a variety of values such as disaster prevention and timber production.
Currently, an increasing number of forests are ill-managed and devastated due to various changes in socioeconomic conditions and people’s lifestyles. If we allow these forests to continue to deteriorate, the subsequent decline in the multifunctionality of forests will have significant impact on our everyday lives. - Shiga prefecture
Lake Biwa, the largest lake of Japan, is located in central Honshu and fills the bottom of an oblong tectonic basin. The lake was formed some five million years ago and is therefore one of the oldest lakes in the world geologically, though it was originally located some distance south and moved gradually to its present site about 700,000 years ago. The long history of isolation from ther water bodies is suggested by the lake's biota, which is fairly rich for an island lake, containing about 50 species of fish, 40 species of mollusca and a number of indigenous species.
Lake Biwa measures 63.5 km from north to south and is strongly constricted at about 16 km from its southern end reaching a minimum width of only 1.35 km. The deep main basin (average depth 44 m) north of the constriction is called the Northern Lake, while the shallow sub-basin (average depth 3.5 m) to the south is called the Southern Lake. The two basins differ considerably in water quality, physical conditions, flora and fauna.
The lake's catchment area is 4.7 times as wide as the lake itself, and corresponds closely to the administrative limits of Shiga Prefecture. Forest-covered hills and mountains accounts for nearly 60% of the land area of the Prefecture, and farmlands (mostly wet paddy fields) makes up additional 25%. The forest vegetation consists mostly of secondary forests of pine on low hills and of mixed deciduous hardwoods on marginal mountains, and plantations of conifers. There are several cities of moderate size, the largest being Otsu with a population of 240,000.
Lake Biwa is also the biggest water resource in Japan that supplies city and industrial water for some 13 million residents in Osaka/Kyoto/Kobe megalopolis. The quality of lake water was profoundly influenced by economic development since the 1960's through rapid eutrophication. The legal control of waste water discharge from industries implemented by the National Government in 1970 slowed down the rate of eutrophication to a certain extent, but the steady increase of population, ever-rising standard of living, increased fertilizer application, etc. in the catchment area combined to result in a slow but steady march of lake water quality degradation.
The Shiga Prefectural Government enacted in 1980 the Ordinance for the Prevention of Eutrophication of Lake Biwa, which, for the first time in this country, prohibited the use of phosphate-containing synthetic detergents. The phosphorus content of lake water was thereby reduced considerably, but the effect of reduced phosphorus loading on biological processes in the lake is not yet apparent. - World Lake Database (The International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC))
