The new addition to the campus is a lounge for our commuters!

This little doodad controls the WiFi in my Mac Mini. If you look closely at the top you'll see golden colored connectors labeled MAIN and AUX. The WiFi antenna is supposed to be connected to MAIN, sadly. Took me a while to suss that one out.

MAC Indulge Collection for Fall 2013

It's an old Power Mac G5 I spotted on eBay for pennies. It's awkward to photograph because it's massive, but it dawned on me that I have a home studio, so here's a picture of it. It has all the raw computing power of one-half of a MacBook Air, in a case the size of a small fridge.

My main motivation was music - here's something I made with this very computer, using Logic Express 9:

This is one of the first-wave dual-processor 2ghz models. Mine has 5.5gb of memory. It came with a MOTU PCI-424 card that I'll never use! And a four-port eSATA card - that I'll never use!

But it runs Logic fast enough. Also, if Britain is hit by a nuclear attack, I can hide inside the case.
