June 12noon hour. Happy horses enjoying their lunch under the cloudy sky courtesy of Tropical Storm Blanca. The storm did bring us a little rain, not enough to cure our California Drought, though. I hope these horses have a secret pond they can go to for some water.
Thank you for your patience, my Flickr friends. I'm working on a project for my family and it will take a few months to complete, so I'll be on and off until then.

Two adults and three young Australasian Grebes were busy looking for food on a pond that used to be a quarry once. This young bird was already diving but it expected to be fed by the parent too.

Yesterday, after my Ai Chi group and Ray's swim at the pool, we sat eating a sandwich and watching a mini snowstorm. This morning there is a frost with a temperature of 1C.

It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon with temps around 80 deg. C. in Houston. Signs of spring everywhere; dragonflies, turtles, birds, trees in bloom and budding out, butterflies, gentle breezes insteads of gale force... great day to kick back in the sun just like my squirrel was doing at lunch time.
