This was shot from a location I’ve been to several times while mountain biking where I will always stop for a few minutes to take a breath and enjoy the incredible view of God’s wonderful creation. Despite the light pollution from Sedona, I’ve often wondered if I could shoot a Milky Way picture with the Twin Buttes and Gibraltar Rock in the foreground. Not as good as what I hoped for but better than expected.
There are so many beautiful locations like this one in the Sedona area what would make for wonderful Milky Way photography, but the light pollution is overwhelming in most of those locations so not worth the effort to even try. It would be wonderful if there was a master switch to turn off all the lights in Sedona and Oak Creek Village every so often. Not only for photographers but for people visiting to enjoy the wonderful night sky that complements the beautiful cliffs and landscape.

The double-decker Carrusel De Chapultepec is a relatively new addition to the park.
It was moved here in 2018 from its original location in Alameda Central where it sat since 1964.
Before its life in Mexico City, the carousel was in Chicago but was made in Venice, Italy.
Along the ceiling and roof that encircles the carousel are intricately painted vignettes featuring scenes from life in Venice.
The hand-painted Venetian-style carousel has capacity for 70 people, It is illuminated by 2,500 spotlights, has 42 steeds with tails made of horsehair and several carriages from other times distributed over its two floors.
