Man bemerkt sie meist erst, wenn sie ihren Ruf laut heraus "trompeten". Sobald die erste Ernte wieder freie Landung auf den Feldern ermöglicht, findet man sie dort auch in kleineren Gruppen. Die Kraniche halten sich zum Teil auch in den kalten Wintermonaten im Bereich vom Kaltenhofer Moor auf, sind aber sehr scheu, und man braucht schon reichlich Glück, um sie aus der "Nähe" anzusehen.
Diese Aufnahme ist eher ein Schnappschuss, da sich die Kraniche in kürzester Zeit in immer größere Höhen geschraubt haben...
