What would i do differently.
This was taken with a minolta film slr and a 70-210 lens apeture of 3.5. so this was as close as i could have gotten without scaring the lizard away. so the only thing is the grain in this photo, if i cropped the picture it would have taken away from the natural environment (boardwalk at lucayan national park Grand Bahama the Bahamas) so i left it as is. I probably would scan the picture and remove that white pebble but that about it. His face in in focus and a little blur on his tail so this would be great if it wasn't for the graininess .
Photo that was submitted to the Family Guardian Calendar contest for 2009 that did not meet their standards.
Hind site is always 20/20 looking at these now i can see why they were rejected, i think the composition, and color were great its just that these were taken with a minolta maxum film slr, and my skills were weaker when i took them. The photos are grainy at 100% and i could have controlled my DOF or Sharpness much better.
I agree with the judges they were not up to standard ill try again for the 2010 calendar.Hind site is always 20/20 looking at these now i can see why they were rejected, i think the composition, and color were great its just that these were taken with a minolta maxum film slr, or a cannon powershot range finger camera and my skills were weaker when i took them.
