Happy Halloween / Dia De Los Muertos! Manny Calavera, the main character from the fabulous 90's LucasArts game, Grim Fandango
The Imp class of light cargo freighters was produced by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. The base freighter design, like many CEC ships, was modular and came with many options. The 'Besther' model, named for the project lead, featured individualized cargo pods which could be customized to accommodate specific needs.
The Besther Imp XIV was made in the first production run and has faired decently in its 34 years of service. Many non-essential systems no longer function well or at all, and it's space-worthiness is in doubt, but it works well as a planetside-only cargo transport.

The Lucasarts game "1313" was shaping up to be a brand new style of game for the Star Wars brand and a fantastic look at another side of the SW universe. Unfortunately, when Disney bought Lucasfilm they shuttered the Lucasarts game department. While not official, 1313 appears to have been effectively cancelled.
For SHIPtember I decided to pay tribute to what could have been. This ship features prominently in the trailer/demo video for the game, and appears to represent the opening act of the game.
While simple in shape, the detachable cargo pods were what first intrigued me enough to start this project. The ship is, to my best estimate, full minifigure scale. Though similar in looks, this ship would actually be dwarfed by the nearly four-times longer Tantive IV.
The full size of this model is 131.3 studs long, 42 studs wide, and 19 bricks tall. It took two weeks to create, start to finish.
Two fire jam Jedi engaging in fire saber fight. As a matter of fact, they were not far from the LucasArts campus when this took place.

This is a shot from last year that I always liked. I had to try the Lucasart settings on the HDR and this is the result.
The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE), sometimes called tanks by clone troopers, was an all terrain assault walker developed for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. It was also one of the the first precursors of the AT-AT walker. It would later be used on a limited scale by the Galactic Empire. (Q: jedipedia)

Manny is seen here in his formal wear, as proprietor of the Calavera Cafe.
I took this shot yesterday and you can see the RAW file below. I used CS3 Raw viewer to produce the Lucasart effect and then I saved three exposures of it for Photomatix. I them made the HDR. I did some burning to hide the noise and I used noise reduction software.
Completed 1:18 scale, 4.25" tall sculpt of Darth Malgus - Sith Lord from the Lucasarts/Bioware MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Figure is a complete sculpt using a custom articluated frame as it's armature. The 8 different heads have all been sculpted and hand painted - each depicting a window of time in the life of Malgus and inspired by the cinematic trilogies created by Blur Studios: Return, Hope and Deceived.

This is a shot from Downtown, in the 3D City I am finishing up. The Building to the right is dedicated to all the amazing Game companies that are now gone, or exist in name only. These companies created so many amazing games, and were part of the golden age of Gaming.
This project started in 2008, and is very close to being complete. This city will be used for modding in games, as well as the comic I am designing. All Models are high Resolution meshes. These Buildings are real-world creations, some models of real-world shops/stores are new architectural designs by myself.
Visit www.tgeweb.com for soon to be released new renderings. (That website will be getting a 100% makeover BTW. But you can email me from there.) -- (I will post more here as well, but my website will have more in depth coverage on this project. I'm designing the webpages for the 3D city now).
All Models are made by Dan Huling aka 'Ziroc'. Copyright 2017
