This striking flint-and-brick 700-year-old church stands in a pretty churchyard shaded by fine trees near a beautiful stretch of the Thames.
It has several stunning memorials including the nineteenth-century memorial for Sir Francis Sykes which has a statue of a woman weeping. This memorial is by John Flaxman who is famous for his Wedgewood designs.
Jethro Tull, the father of modern farming, has a memorial here and there is a moving marble statue of two young brothers in swimming trunks who drowned in the Thames in 1886.

Many rat rods find their genesis deep in the imagination of their creators. A great idea manifest in metal.
Other rat rods end up as an amalgam of whatever crap happens to be lying around.
The VW 'Dirty Rabbit', shown here, is an example of the latter.
Maybe you have a VW Golf Mk V lying around that has a decent body, but the mechanicals are shot. Maybe you have a VW Amarok that's been rolled, and the body is crushed.
Maybe, if you put the two together, you might just have something.
A Dirty Rabbit kind of a something.
Rabbit, is of course, the name used by VW America on the Mk I and Mk V Golf models (not sure what happened for Mk II - IV). The Rabbit here is a 3-door model that has had the body removed ahead of the dash panel, and all the mechanical gust stripped.
The Amarok chassis, on the other hand, could pretty much be driven sans body, so long as the electronic modules and battery were connected.
None of the Amarok engines are terribly exciting, however, (except the just-announced 3.0 litre V6 Turbo Diesel), so an engine transplant is in order too. Now that the body is gone, there is a bit more space for something bigger (and more interesting), so in goes a VW group V8.
VW's MLB platform underpins most Audis, along with the groups larger SUVs and in modified form, all their big luxury cars. There are plenty of interesting engines available, up to, and including W12s. To mate to an almost common ZF 8HP auto trans, one could select the Audi A8 4.2 litre V8 Diesel, producing 350 PS (257 kW) and 800 Nm.
The 8HP units are not identical however, and the front drive unit would be incompatible withe the Amarok chassis.
Once there is no front drive, there is a benefit to be had by dumping the frame over the front axle line, lowering the engine mass.
You still kind of need headlights, so these are salvaged units from the Amarok.
You still have a useful enclosed luggage volume of the Golf, plus its fine cabin.
This Lego miniland-scale LUGNuts Custom VW 'Dirty Rabbit' rat-rod has been created for Flickr LUGNuts' 102nd Build Challenge, titled - 'I Smell a (Modern) Rat!'. In this challenge, any post-1996 vehicle can be built as a rat-rod.
Not my typical shutter speed for a waterfall, but silky water just didn't (to me) show the violence of this water.
The lower building, standing in front of the pits. This is probably the loading point from the tramway into road lorries.
