During the springtime of 2009, I was working as a research assistant in the World Literature department at Simon Fraser University, and my main duties consisted of scanning old fairytale 'tomes and cataloging citations in a massive online database. However, my favorite task was reading the short stories and photographing the cunning illustrations of Japanese folklore.
I'm trying to get a good shot of my Twiggy glasses....see the box behind me? It's a case for them plus a lovely little lense cleaning cloth. How cool is that?

My travels around the UK by car for three weeks with my son. June/July 2019 England.
Day seven. Luckily we made it time to check in before 11pm. We arrived at 10:58. Today we are taking a look around Bristol harbour area before making our way to Wales. We had a few heavy showers.
Bristol's history as a trading port stretches back to 1051 when it was listed in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. By the 14th-century, the city was trading with Spain, Portugal and Iceland, and ships were also leaving Bristol to found new colonies in the New World. Bristol's history as part of the triangular slave trade is well documented.
In 1809, Bristol was transformed by the opening of the Floating Harbour to overcome the challenge of the second highest tidal range in the world. Over the next two centuries the harbour grew as a busy commercial port and has now transformed into an amazing destination for leisure, business and residence.

Lola got her haircut Saturday and they put this cute little bandana on her, kinda made her look like a boy but I don't mind.
today we woke up to the lovely sound of machines working on the lot next door to us. they shook our building like no other. our lovely neighbor (a man who owns half the businesses in town and does as he pleases) built this cement platform like thing that was practically attached to the carpe (my parents restaurant that i live above), never used it, and today had it torn down. all my fury has been voiced, for today though.
satchel and i picked up artie and kai from the metra, i am psyched that it is cousin summer lovin' time again. tonight i'm going to the drive-in theatre.
the pictures on the left is of the large scratch on our building from the tear down of the platform thing, and on the right is my cousin.

really her name is Luna...but I usually call her Luhanna...this is her right now at 9:30 am thursday morning...my husband works from home on thursday and friday...and it is nice..but......I end up working in my room on my bed with my heater going...because on the days he isnt home...I run the heat...I like heat...I am usually never warm..but he is ALWAYS warm....so we cozy up on the bed and can get bead sets done..write letters...do flickr..do email...but if I choose to leave my warm cozy spot....Luna will be more then happy to keep it warm for me...but then she doesnt give it back...good thing I was done for now and was leaving to go walking...but she doesnt get to keep the heater going.....
Adam bought this beautiful Bizenyaki chawan for me last summer. And I haven't used it at all. Maybe once. I put it way too far into the cabinet and I totally forgot about it.
I'll be using it a lot more from tomorrow.
