today we woke up to the lovely sound of machines working on the lot next door to us. they shook our building like no other. our lovely neighbor (a man who owns half the businesses in town and does as he pleases) built this cement platform like thing that was practically attached to the carpe (my parents restaurant that i live above), never used it, and today had it torn down. all my fury has been voiced, for today though.
satchel and i picked up artie and kai from the metra, i am psyched that it is cousin summer lovin' time again. tonight i'm going to the drive-in theatre.
the pictures on the left is of the large scratch on our building from the tear down of the platform thing, and on the right is my cousin.

Adam bought this beautiful Bizenyaki chawan for me last summer. And I haven't used it at all. Maybe once. I put it way too far into the cabinet and I totally forgot about it.
I'll be using it a lot more from tomorrow.
Bought our new Christmas tree today - a lovely little Spruce in a red pot. If we look after it, it should grow very slowly and keep getting decorated by these hands every Christmas for years to come.

I paid my respects to Rudy's photo at the Moving Wall. I can still remember his big smile as he walked around the Wall letting me photograph him despite the pain of his hips. We soon had a crowd followng us, eager to meet him. Rudy was just so happy to be around his beloved soldiers and veterans. Finally, he walked over to the battlefield cross for the Iraq/Aghanistan Wars. He looked at it very intently as if he were reading the plaque and remembering. He was tired and I know in pain. His mom Sandy told him it was okay for him to sit. He laid in front of the cross and smiled at me. God bless you Rudy. Your family said they still miss you so much and are still so proud you were part of their family.
