The young nut seller seems worried and lost.

Early morning, 21st February 2014

I went backpack camping at Lost Maples State Park. It was a mostly clear night and I was the only one in the hike-in camping area that I chose up on the ridge. It was so dark, I could easily see the Milky Way stretching across the sky. The light on the horizon is from the town of Leaky, I think. I couldn't see it with my eyes.

This is about the only selfie I will do this year.

Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were visible. Pluto is supposed to be in there, but I don't think I could find it.

It was hot, I was tired and sore from the long hike and climb with full pack, I was alone in the park except for the RV campers a few miles away, and it was one of the best nights I can remember. Can't wait to do it again.

The limekilns at the Winnington works of Brunner Mond & Co are now demolished. There were originally six shaft kilns which were extended to nine in the 1950s. It seemed that they would be there for ever.

This was a fun little project -- I wrote and illustrated a short story called lost. :)

This house is truly a perfect example of a creepy abandoned house, something you may see in a nightmare or a horror movie. Known mainly for it's exterior, I decided to put my own twist to this old house by making it fit more to my visual likings...

It's "basilic" in French for basil and Basilique for "basilica".

This picture really wasn't meant to be creepy or scary. It just took a turn that way during the black and white conversion. And, we were actually lost.

Lost black suede high heel shoe in Fitzrovia, London

In this photo we used the lego figure and some flour used as snow.We tried to symbolize this character being lost and not being able to find his way.For this I used rule of thirds.

I spent two nights photographing this year's Perseid Meteor shower at Lost Lake near Mt. Hood in Oregon. This short video combines over 600 images and three time-lapse segments in my effort to capture the spectacle.

I've also written a blog which includes details and still shots. If you are interested, take a look: www.firefallphotography.com/lost-in-space-photographing-t...

Thanks!

Jeff

PS: Anything visible for more than a half second on the video is likely to be a satellite or aircraft, but even so, there certainly were plenty of meteors!
