ODC Our Daily Challenge: Case

right now I feel a bit of everything. the weight of remembering what happened on this day five years ago, when I awoke early that morning to go to work in manhattan, ready to change my life... mixed into the tangle of excitement and anxieties about my birthday tomorrow and my show opening friday and all the people who I am going to soon see and meet. the unexpected course things can take...

how things change.

this is day one of 365, year two.

would have been cooler if i had started it on jan 1

...oh well...

close enough!

also not a very *exciting* debut shot

but i like it.

it's honest.

you're more likely to find me

staring off into space, engaged in my own mind,

than jumping up and down.

i want this year to be a peek

into my life and who i am now.

at least, that's the idea. we'll see.

so, hi

again :)

For months I have been stuck in one place

A place of sadness and loneliness, despair and confusion

I do not want to be there anymore

I will move on and only look forward

We had a past and that is exactly what it is

The past

I will leave it there and I will not look back

Certain things are behind me, as this new year begins. Some I will miss, while others not so much. I feel sure this is true for you, as well. Time moves through us, never offering to reverse or stop, but always insisting on going forward. At least it’s consistent, smiling.

On this first day of 2020, I embrace the opportunity for a fresh start. A clean slate on which each of us can begin again.

This came into being yesterday evening. I drove through the fields next to my home and came to the place where i have already shot several shots in the past. I was pretty surprised that there grew a cornfield since I have been there the last time so I decided to use this in conncetion with the beautiful sunset. Its my personal scream for a real summer. I hope somebody heard it =)

I need your help flickrites: Many of the CR2 data from my last shootings is damaged somehow. I can open those images but they have really extreme color errors. They look like this. Click

Has anyone of you any experience with that and can you tell me what causes this problem? I would believe that my CF Card is senile and that this is the reason. I didnt find anything like this on the internet so I am depending on you. Thanks in advance.

Definitely a must to see this in Large.

About rising, building, looking up, looking forward.

I just ended a horrible and inconvenient part of my life. It feels...magical...?....!

(also, these make me feel like I am 10)

...because it is useless to look

backward.

Happy New Year to my Flickr Friends.

Looking forward to next summer..

*Self portraits are sometimes quite a struggle. And in the end the best picture is something different than you have expected.*

A bit late this week but here is my photo for week 17. I am 9 weeks pregnant and I get to know it when my doctor diagnosed me for Diabetes Mellitus Type II. He have ruled out Gestational Diabetes and said that I may have had it longer that I realised. That explains why I have been so under the weather lately. I have changed my diet and only consumed all those healthy foods. There is beauty in everything that has happened to me. I try to take it one day at a time and am looking forward for this tiny beauty in my tummy!!

I cannot take typical tourist pictures. I trekked 11 km to Laguna Torre. I stripped from my hiking gear, got into my white dress and ran around barefoot taking pictures of myself. Then trek back another 11 km to my hostel in El Chalten.

A photograph from last march. Finally decided to edit this image.

Can you read the story here. How free and happy times passed. Lookingforward to freedom and enjoy the life as it is.

Today marks the four year anniversary since I began my conceptual photography journey. July 2012, I was staying at my Babcia house in Jaskowice. I walked to the Byczyna to use the internet at a local cafe. I uploaded some pictures of my trip in Poland onto Flickr. At the time I would upload all my Flickr photos to those Flickr groups with the comment codes. Those comment codes use to be extremely reinforcing for me.

Online, I found Mandy Rosen Photography. On her Facebook page, she made a post about the techniques she used to make composites. By acquiring her technique, I possessed the fundamental skills to attempt making surreal photographs.

Extremely excited I contacted my friend Karolina, she was also an amateur photographer. Together we looked online for levitation images to inspire our creation. The first conceptual picture we took was a levitation image. At the time, all my attention was focused on achieving the levitation. I did not care about the scenery. Not even paying attention to the details. I have learned a ton since this picture. I always want to be able to critique my photographs to become better.

When I came back to Canada, my lifestyle changed forever. I am fortunate to have been able to find photography. I finally found my creative outlet.

Thank you for following my work! All the love and kind message I receive on my photographs warms my heart :) Every comment makes me smile. I am happy to have this community of people to enjoy and hopefully connect with my images :) Thank you for the positive reinforcements <3

Please, have a look at it On Black

It has been a very busy week, and I had no time for new shots (except than .. for the calla lily!) - so, tonight I've rummaged into my archives - this is a detail from the Natural Science Institute in Zurich -- a very interesting and inspiring place I visited with Barbara, Jorg and Tom during our last JiBBR meeting in Zurich :-)

Have a super week end you all!

Turning heads, its not everyday Europe comes to Dublin.

Stena Europe comes to Dublin Ireland.

Stena Europe is expected to leave the fleet in 2023 after many years of faithful service, loved by crews & passengers.

As another year draws the curtain, I want to thank each and every one of you for stopping by, leaving kindness, and making a difference in my life. You are all talented, thoughtful and so very important to me.

I wish each of you a beautiful and healthy 2008. May all your expectations for happiness be exceeded and all of your longings for love be met.

My favorite poem, one by A.R. Ammons, to ride us out of 2007 and into 2008...

"May happiness,

pursue you,

catch you

often, and,

should it

lose you,

be waiting

ahead, making

a clearing

for you."

What are you looking forward to on this special day? Roses or chocolates? Or are you still looking for your Valentine?

Have a great Valentine's Day!

Tomorrow, an entire college year is waiting just ahead of me. Now, I feel fresh enough and ready to make it my own :)

Everything in this photo is real except the castle.

I shoved my wedding dress into my snow pants, took the T-Bar to the top of the mountain, snowboard/ hiked to this location ( because I didn't want people to see me, although it was a fricken snow storm lol).

My bride series featuring myself . All I have to do is spring :)
