I took a bunch of pictures I liked on Feb 19th but the shot with my arms up in the air won out that day. I got to playing with Urban Acid action and skin tones and these were the images I went back to because they're the kind of pictures I wish I took (and looked like) all day every day. 'Hope.' The one category in the photomarathon I was most frustrated with was 'Mothers' and I felt that way as soon as I saw it on the card. I'm not big on people shots and I also tend to be very literal in my themes. The literal thing is one reason this was a good event for me. It pushed me out of that literal thinking. And guess what? I won the Mothers category! If you knew how I was complaining about this category all day long you would know how funny that actually is.

To say that my 28th year of life was significant would be a drastic understatement. It was the year I did everything possible to shed my skin. I made difficult decisions on a regular basis and lost a lot. I picked new directions in life and rediscovered passion. I found that I wanted more. Needed more.
This next year is for building upon what I tore down the past year and making the most of the foundations I have since laid. It won't be easy, but I've got a feeling that I'm going to enjoy the process for once.
