I'm looking forward to seeing leaves on my trees again.

A black bear cub (Ursus americanus) climbed up to the top of the tree after his mom sent him running when a deer ran through the field where they were eating in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.

This grandpa (not mine) was not amused. Though, it made me smile, with his colorfull balloons and granny's bag, hihi

happy new year everyone!

I wish for you: to be happy, healthy, wealthy and wise.

In These Times

These are the times

Tears fill the back of your eyes

These are the times

The birds migrate

Across the skies

These are the times

What hope you had you forget

These wicked times

You're bound to feel

All sanity is lost

In these times everyone needs love

In these times do you pray to God

In these times everyone needs comfort

And would welcome a hand to hold

Compassion is the fire

That burns the hurt

That pains the soul

And though my eyes are so polluted

By the sight of lost desires

I can see you standing by

This is my fear

That distance will come between us

And it could mean nothing

Nothing

To get from here to there

We own the world

And everything that's in it

Let our love shine

Like glistening raindrops

Resting on a rose

In these times celebrate our love

In these times let's be thankful of

All the days we can spend together

And I'm happy to hold your hand

Your passion is the food

That feeds the hunger in my heart

And now my eyes are clearly open

No more longing for the past

Now I have you in these times

In these times everyone needs love

In these times do you pray to God

In these times everyone needs comfort

And would welcome a hand to hold

Your passion is the fire

That burns the hurt

That pains the soul

And though my eyes are so polluted

By the sight of lost desires

Good to have you in these times

Male Calliope Hummingbird

During a noisy, riotous, air-boat ride in the Florida Everglades, somehow I captured this serene looking moment in time. The girl in the photo was sitting just behind me, and I was momentarily frustrated that I hadn't captured the photo of the egret in time to keep her face out of the photo...until I saw the results. Add in a little black & white exposure, and it brought so much more depth than a simple photo of the bird would have been. In fact it better captures the mystery and grace of the Great White Egret, a true beauty amongst ravenous alligators and snakes of the swampland.

is there anything lovelier than

pretty pink flowers in the spring?

they make us smile

and dream of sun

and warm wind

on our face.

pretty pink flowers are

a little girl's fantasy

and make her long for

days to come

when she will marry her prince.

but as for mom, she

watches with sadness

as her girl grows away

knowing that someday

she must give her up

to the one who is waiting

to give her pretty pink flowers

and call her his own.

Edit: i was searching through my stream for pink photos for the Passionately Pink for the Cure group, and i found this one. as i sat here reading the 'poem' under the photo, i was amazed to remember that I had wrote it!!! i guess sometimes the spirit moves me and i can actually string together a coherent thought that isn't too bad!

anyway, this is for those out there who are going through or have gone through breast cancer, and for the families who have stood by their side. God bless you all, and may we find a cure for this horrible disease.

I finally did it! I knitted! I've been trying for about a week or so, watching a YouTube video for absolutely clueless beginners (www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONVQCK_-rKc). I've had several stops and starts, but I finally managed to not only cast on, but work a basic knit stitch. I've dropped stiches (oh well), somehow added extra stiches (no idea), but I'm getting better. I am #lookingforward to when I can actually make something besides a lumpy knitting sample. Someday soon! #cy365

so much to look forward to this week. i am a little annoyed that i messed up the spirals i almost tore the page out!

Oh, Griswold Alerts continue in a day or two, more surprises may be in store, but for now, this entry is brought to you by the following quotes, saved for posterity....

"you must get up every day... you have so much to live for"

"What is it you want? Like, what is it YOU really want? If life worked out that you could work and live, would you?"

"Listen to the people telling you that you are lovely and that you have much to live for... It's (the) truth."

Two years, and nearly four months - Actually, it's close to three years, or perhaps even almost eight years, seeing as I was grandfathered in from Yahoo! Photos around August 2007.

Nearly 70,000 views. Not too shabby, but not the center of the universe.

I've done some interesting things here in the last year and a half. I met people, made a few contacts, exchanged a lot of words and thoughts and ideas back and forth on here...

And yet, after the past few weeks, it seems I've lost touch with some people out there, or maybe I've been forgotten, or maybe other people are interested in what I have on here. This isn't exactly a place for socializing, but it's a nice place to offer a glimpse into your world, what drives you, what you like - As much or as little as you wish.

So, where to go from here? In the absence of anything better, or any clear-cut answer, the best possible course of action is to just keep going, and figure it out when you get there.

And so, I will keep on going. Who knows where the road will take me next?

Jump aboard, hop off, jump back on - This bus travels anywhere, at any time, and is everywhere at once. I've forgotten how it started, and I don't know where it will end, but those things aren't really important right now.

For those who are still here, thanks for staying with me. For those who are curious - Take a look - I won't bite... hard. ^_-;

Sometimes its all in the perspective. Today a significant shift in outlook occurred and has made a world of difference. Oh, to hold that inspiration softly, loosely so it may grow, change and evolve, but still close enough to speak deeply into my heart. Let me not forget our piece to this great puzzle.
