Some fishing boats in the distance lights up the water beneath, as well as the sky above. The green color attracts squid.

There is a great story here. The guy on the left spotted me and said to the other "look, she's taking our picture". The guy on the right was like "huh?" So lefty pointed at me and said "she's taking our picture". Right "huh?". Lefty: "her. she's taking our picture." A few more rounds of this the guy on the right looked at me so I waved. I then snapped the picture of the guy laughing at his buddy.

The Perseid Meteor Shower was peaking while we were in New York. We had clear skies and no moon. I have never seen such an amazing show as what we saw on the nights of August 10th and 11th. There were so many meteors, and many were fireballs, with huge tails that spanned from dome to horizon.

These shots are taken, standing on the front lawn of our rental farmhouse, looking South-West over farmland. The flashlight shines on Jupiter, and to the left of it is Saturn. Mars is way off to the left. Thunderstorms, lit up by ambient light in the atmosphere are in the distance.

Looking in: exploring the tensions between inside and outside, between voyeurism versus the innocent childlike pleasure of simply looking.

Cempaka is a small village 10 km from Banjarbaru, and 45 minutes from Banjarmasin. It is an old site of traditional diamond digging using very simple equipment. The digging is a collective work by a group, usually consisting of one family and its close relatives.

Public buildings, including restaurants and pubs, often have panels or decorations on the ceiling to muffle noise and to create an ambiance. They often go unnoticed on a conscious level but still have an effect on an unconscious level. if you make a point of looking up, you may be surprised by what you will see. These elements on the ceiling of a mall almost escaped my attention. They remind me of "f-holes" on violins.
